In Modern Warfare and Warzone, mobility is an often-overlooked weapon stat that is rarely highlighted in builds but goes a long way towards making them more viable. Mobility helps with movement speed, but other handling characteristics, like ADS times and sprint to fire speed, usually benefit from attachments that increase mobility as well. These attributes, plus other handling characteristics like reload speed, go a long way towards making a Call of Duty build feel good and can contribute heavily towards the overall strength of a weapon setup.
In any Call of Duty mode, ADS times and sprint to fire speed allow a player to take advantage of their reflexes. Getting the drop on an enemy or reacting quickly to an ambush doesn't matter if the player can't raise their weapon and fire fast enough. In Warzone especially, a high mobility allows players to run between cover quickly and discreetly- a key strength when operating on such a large battlefield with so many open, vulnerable spaces. In light of all these benefits, here is a breakdown of some of the best mobility builds in Modern Warfare and Warzone.
The Best Mobile SMGs For Modern Warfare and Warzone
SMGs are a great choice for players looking to move quickly and take advantage of snap reaction times. The MP5 and MP7 are two of the best SMGs in Modern Warfare, rivaled only by the Fennec, and they have a phenomenal track record in standard multiplayer and Warzone alike. The MP5 is natural, controllable, and does great damage, meaning that attachments solely focused on improving its core mobility won't hamper its accuracy or damage too badly. Meanwhile, the MP7 is so light and agile that even kitting out for ranged damage keeps it zippy and quick.
For maximum mobility with the MP5, the FSS Mini barrel, Stippled Grip Tape, FTAC Collapsible stock, 5mW laser, and Sleight of Hand will make its handling a dream. The collapsed stock does tank the MP5's natural accuracy though, so opting for a Close Quarters stock will still boost the ADS speed at the cost of only a slight movement speed penalty. Sleight of Hand can be traded out for an optic or larger magazines, but neither is necessary and fast reload times on a stripped-down MP5 make for a killer combo.
The MP7 does great DPS at close range, and when kitted out like the MP5 with a short barrel and no stock, it is even more blisteringly quick. Kitted out solely for mobility, the MP7 could outclass any other SMG, but that means that it will still be a strong contender even with some compromises. A Lightweight suppressor, FSS Recon barrel, stippled grip tape, FSS Close Quarters stock, and 50-round magazine will make the MP7 more mobile than practically any other Warzone SMG setup, while still packing a decent punch at mid range.
Fast Sidearms and Shotguns for Modern Warfare and Warzone
The sidearm with the best mobility by far is, in fact, the knife. Many pro players keep a knife equipped to allow them to quickly dash to a key spot on the map before switching to their primary. However, melee weapons don't take attachments, and pistols are a close second when it comes to speed. The Renetti is the best pistol in the game, and it too can allow players to zoom around the map at breakneck pace. On smaller maps, shotguns can likewise be used to dominate if they have enough mobility to allow the wielder to close gaps and get in to tight quarters.
The Renetti is so strong because of its three round burst, so the MK3 burst mod will stay for this build. The XRK Speed grip, 5mW laser, match grade trigger, and a mini-reflex optic or sleight of hand will complete the setup. Opting for Fully Loaded will also boost max ammo counts for both weapons when equipping a 9mm SMG like the MP5. Unfortunately, all of the Renetti's stocks lower its mobility, but it still provides great movement benefits and can deal quite a lot of damage in a pinch, especially at close range.
Shotguns take a special touch in Modern Warfare and Warzone. Outside of maps like Shipment, they don't get too much time to shine, but some people, including YouTuber jackfrags, think that shotguns have a place even in Warzone too. The Origin-12 is underrated even among shotguns, but with a choke, Merc foregrip, Stippled Grip Tape, Forge Tac Dart stock, and 5mW laser, it is a speed monster. In Warzone, opting for a longer barrel will improve its range, and removing the stock can make up for the movement penalty.
Balanced Mobile Builds for Warzone
In Warzone, putting mobility and handling above all else comes at the cost of range and accuracy. That's not such a great trade-off in battle royale, so making a more balanced build will still be enough to out-maneuver the competition while still getting good ranged capabilities. The M13 is great for this kind of build because it has naturally good handling and controllable recoil, plus good attachments that improve mobility without too many downsides. As an LMG, the PKM is pretty cumbersome no matter what, but it has attachments that can make it far more mobile than any other LMG.
A good compromise build for the M13 includes a zoom optic and a Monolithic suppressor for a bit more range and stealth for Warzone. 50-round magazines will provide extra ammo but won't be as slow as 60-round ones, and Stippled Grip Tape in combination with the unique M13 Skeleton stock will boost the gun's handling to a very noticeable degree. Because of the PKM's natural heft, a full mobility-focused build will still leave it with low recoil and high accuracy, plus a huge ammo count. the 18.2" Compact barrel, Snatch grip, Stippled Grip Tape, FSS Close Quarters Stock, and 5mW laser will do the trick.
A light, mobile playstyle isn't for everyone, but any one of these builds will do admirably in the hands of players who prefer to be fast, aggressive, and agile.
