There almost seems to be no reason to not play Call of Duty at the moment. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's third season is close to beginning, battle royale game Warzone continues to be popular with its player base, and recently we finally got the long-rumoured remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, or more specifically, its single-player campaign.

Not every country is able to enjoy it, though. Sony's Russia branch has refused to release the remaster over there, most likely because of its infamous No Russian mission, where the player and a band of Russian terrorists partake in a mass shooting. One upside, though, is that said mission has received a slight "fix" in the Japanese release.

During said mission, one of the characters says the line "Remember, no Russian," referring to how they shouldn't say anything in the Russian language. In the original Japanese release back in 2009, however, the line was changed to "Korose, roshiajin da," which translates to "Kill 'em, the Russians."

This change was widely criticized by Japanese players as it completely changed the meaning of the scene, and was a part of why said players weren't pleased with the localization in general, citing that the voice track sounded "cheap" and expressing disappointment over a lack of an English language option.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered fixes at least one of these issues. The maligned line has been changed, with new dialogue added to have the character say "Roshiago wa tsukauna," which means "Don't use Russian." The campaign reportedly still doesn't have an English language track option, though.

While it's good to see even little moments like this be addressed after all these years, that hasn't stopped some fans from criticizing the remaster, with the biggest one being the lack of any multiplayer. Activison has stated that it has no intention of including it in the future, but a new rumor says otherwise.

In the meantime, those that may have exhausted themselves playing the campaign can jump into Warzone, which is free-to-play. Newcomers may want to check out some guides to help them start out, such as knowing what kind of loadouts they should use.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Campaign Remastered is available on PlayStation 4, and will release on Xbox One and PC on April 30th.
