In its March 30 weekly update on the Call of Duty franchise, Activision announced Call of Duty Mobile's fifth season of content, the Steel Legion, which launched on April 1. Much of its new content harkens back to the series' past, including the returning Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 map Meltdown and the addition of a game mode called 2v2 Showdown that is described as being similar to Modern Warfare's Gunfight.

The Activision Games Blog post outlining these additions describes 2v2 Showdowns as a "brawl to the death" between duos who have to win five rounds by either eliminating all other teams or capturing the overtime flag. The challenge in this new Call of Duty Mobile mode comes from the lack of health regeneration between rounds.

Beyond those additions and a bevy of seasonal rewards, the blog post also details new things coming to Modern Warfare and Warzone. There is also an update about a number of new player features now available for the eSports Call of Duty League.
