Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty community service, Elite, will be adding Facebook integration to ensure that users of both products will be able to connect on a much wider scale. Not only that, Infinity Ward has also confirmed the mobile applications for Call of Duty Elite will also enable players to change their Create-A-Class on the go. Because let’s face it, there have been moments when we’re at a bar talking to some dude and he’s convinced you that some random perk combination is bananas. Now you will be able to change it right then and there without writing it down in a drunken haze.

Modern Warfare 3‘s launch in just a few days will mark the full introduction to the Call of Duty social network; in the latest behind-the-scenes video released by Infinity Ward and Beachhead Studios, they talk about how they’re integrating one social network with another. (They must have heard we like social networks in our social networks.)

Certain aspects of Elite have been discussed, like the ‘Improve’ section of the service, which allows players to track data to help better their skills with particular weapons, or on one of the 16 maps shipping with the game.

The video below details the kind of connectivity and integration that Call of Duty Elite will be gaining with Facebook, and how the two will be able to mesh together. In essence, it’s a secondary friends list you will have access to through Modern Warfare 3, so you can see which of your Facebook friends are online and playing Call of Duty. Not a bad idea at all. Check out the video for more information.

Creating clans via Facebook seems like a pretty interesting mechanic that can maximize your experiences when playing Modern Warfare 3. Certainly, there’s going to be a lot of meta games that will be made available through the various operations available to the user, and with the incentive of winning some real prizes, people are going to at least try. With the additions of more game modes, players will find themselves busy with MW3 for at least a little while.

Modern Warfare 3 releases November 8, 2011 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
