In a departure from the usual offering, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombie mode offers players a chance to simply leave the battle at regular intervals when the undead wave pauses. The only problem is that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War never explains how the system works, only that it does exist.
In the revamped and improved version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies, players get loads of new options. From bringing in personal loadouts to acquiring special skins and levels, players have several advantages special to the zombie mode. Still, one of the more mysterious features is the exfil system, which is available throughout the round.
In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, players have a chance to exfil or exfiltrate from the map. Instead of having to push and push through endless waves, players can now escape the map and earn some bonus rewards for doing so. Any player who successfully exfils can earn bonus XP and occasionally Raw Aetherium Crystals.
How to Exfil in Zombies
The option to exfil appears after players have reached round 10 of a match. After that, players can either call in their escape or wait for another opportunity several rounds later. After round 10, players will see the exfil option appear every 5 rounds, giving them consistent chances to leave the map.
Do keep in mind that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans who play with friends will have to vote to exfil. The majority rule is needed to call in the escape, which allows parties a chance to decide if they stay or leave.
To initiate a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War exfil, players return to the original starting area of the map. Once there, look for a radio with a helicopter prompt. Using the radio will call in the exfil or trigger the party vote.
Triggering an exfil doesn't just end the math, though, players will have to complete one last objective. Players must navigate to a designated exfil site on the map before a time ends. To officially leave, players must rush to the site while taking on an endless horde of zombies whose difficulty level is increased dramatically.
Everything from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War zombie bosses to hell hounds will try to stop players from escaping. As a result, it's best to prepare gear and stock up on gear before triggering the exfil.
