A new set of information brought by a diligent data miner has increased hype by shedding some insight into the upcoming experience. From the looks of this early information, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode may see the return of the infamous antagonist Ludvig Maxis. This man is one of the main contributors to the initial creation of zombies and hellhounds in the Aether storyline. He has appeared as both antagonist and supporting character in several Call of Duty: Black Ops titles and World at War. Considering that the intro cutscene of Die Maschine already features Samantha, Ludvig's daughter, there is a high chance that this leak will be implemented into the next game.

The data mined information also includes minor details about the available perks, Artherium Crystals, and other information put out of context. None of it is nearly as big as the possibility that Dr. Ludvig Maxis could return to the game's core storyline.

The return of Maxis means that the game will be taking place in the core Aether storyline. Based on the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies reveal, the only difference is the progression of eras at which players enter the storyline once again. With new features, new enemies, and new challenges packed into the game, it will be refreshing for fans to be reintroduced to a long lost character.

While there are still many unknowns revolving around the new game, fans are at least sure that this will be a full Zombies experience. Keep in mind that data-mined information is not a concrete fact, but is usually gives a good general idea of developer plans and intentions. Still, data miners in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War need to be careful or they may stumble into a "Rick Roll."

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on November 13th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
