For many fans, simply having access to the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta is reward enough. Still, for those who need some added incentive, Activision and Treyarch have added an additional reward for anyone who plays in the Black Ops Cold War beta. Although this is a small reward, it is still worth it for many players who worry about falling behind in their Modern Warfare battle pass.

The announcement was made on October 16th as the developers decided that players may need an extra push. The reward is automatically added to player accounts once the criteria have been met. Unlike other Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War rewards, this one applies only to Warzone and Modern Warfare.

Treyarch and Activision are rewarding players who play in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta with a free tier skip to their Modern Warfare or Warzone battle pass. Once a player reaches level 10, they can gain three additional tier skips that will apply immediately to their battle pass. Although this seems like a minor reward, three tiers can mean a lot to some players in the Call of Duty community. This small boost can push a player closer towards the final set of rewards, and for many, it is being rewarded for something that fans are already doing.

So far, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta has been progressing for several days. As of October 17th, fans unlocked an additional beta play day and each update seems to be increasing the level cap giving players a new goal to strive for.

With the added community during the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War open access beta period, the developers are able to collect more data than ever before. This incentive to play to level 10 most likely comes from this data collection point of view, but for many fans, a few free tiers seem like a fair trade.

While the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta is being plagued with cheaters, bugs, and issues fans are urged to remember that this is pre-launch content. It is better to catch problems earlier rather than later, and by playing to level 10 players have a higher chance of encountering a bug. With thousands of players logging into the beta, there are sure to be tons of free tiers given away with other rewards for participation expected in the future.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is planned to launch on November 13th for PC, PS4, Ps5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
