Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies has been making fine use of its intel system, constantly adding new documents and recordings for lore lovers to collect. The new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War mode Outbreak is no different, as players can find plenty of new items to add to their collections.

While Firebase Z fans have been given a few new transmissions and audio logs to hunt down as part of Season 2’s intel lineup, a vast majority of the additional items are found within Outbreak. Ruka, Alpine, and Golova all have items to collect, and though the process of gathering the intel is the same, the scale of this open-world mode makes tracking them down a bit tougher. Fortunately, some dedicated fans have already gathered all these new items, giving players a checklist to run through as they are playing Outbreak.

Dark Aether Intel

Starting with the simplest objectives, most of the Dark Aether Intel is obtained like it always has been, as players will need to complete a series of intel trials.  However, there are four Dark Aether artifacts players can collect inside Outbreak as well. The items are as follows.

  • 4 Documents: Through the completion of intel trials on the trial machine, players can collect four Outbreak documents. The map does not matter. NOTE: The trial machine on Firebase Z also gets three new trial documents to collect, as well as a radio and audio log.
  • Artifact 1: Alpine’s Blue Bunny - Players can collect the same blue bunny found in Samantha Maxis’ Operator bundle. To reach it, enter the second red house across from the huge hotel parking lot (there will be two more green houses to the right) and head upstairs. It will be on the bed.
  • Artifact 2: Alpine’s Juggernog Can - On the roof of the bathhouse where players activate the beacon and complete holdout objectives, an empty Juggernog can be seen resting againest the chimney.
  • Artifact 3: Ruka’s Head - On a pole a few feet away from the big bridge with chests, players will see Ivan’s Head resting on top of the thin wooden pillar. Carefully parachuting onto the pillar will allow players to pick up this item, which is a fun reference to Firebase Z’s safe Easter egg.
  • Artifact 4: Golova’s Monkey Bomb - On the Cathedral in Golova, players can find a Monkey Bomb hiding on the roof. It will be on the edge of the front right pillar.

Omega Intel

The villainous Zombies faction Omega is back with more intel in Outbreak, though for those interested in full completion on Season 2, it is worth noting that there is a new audio log under a bed in Firebase Z’s Scientist Quarters. Peck’s Quarters also boasts one more transmission. The Outbreak intel is as follows:

  • 3 Documents: Randomly dropped from elite or special enemies. Look for yellow items on the floor after a kill. Maps do not matter for Documents.
  • Artifact 1 - Ruka’s Omega Patch: Players can find an Omega symbol on top of the wooden platform in front of the climbing room. Climb up the climbing rope and jump over to get it.
  • Artifact 2 - Ruka’s Kravchenko Knife: Kravchenko’s knife, which was used to remove Peck’s eye at the end of Firebase Z’s main quest, is found in the back left sniper tower of the military base.

Maxis Intel

While players have been enjoying playing as Samantha Maxis this week despite the Operator’s invisibility bug, they can learn even more about the iconic character in Outbreak. For full completionists, she has a new radio transmission to collect as well as an audio log that is sitting on the bottom right the of roof outside Firebase Z’s OPC. For Outbreak, the intel is as follows.

  • 2 Documents: As always, documents are randomly dropped from Elite enemies. Map does not matter.
  • Artifact 1: Golova’s Maxis BND Badge: If players follow the road through Golova’s town all the way to the end (going to the right of Pack-A-Punch) they will find a barricade right in front of the phase. Behind this barricade is the artifact.
  • Artifact 2: Golova’s Endstation Tape - In the Lower East Town, opposite of the big statue, players can head down the stairs to find a yellow house on their left. On the bottom floor of this building, entering the second door on the left will see players met with the Projekt Endstation tape that started the new storyline.

Requiem Intel

Rounding out the list of Outbreak intel is Requiem, with the CIA-backed faction having the best hidden artifacts to collect. For full completion, 3 new Documents and a fresh radio transmission can be collected from Firebase Z (the array intel also tracks correctly). Everything else is found in Outbreak.

  • 4 Documents: Killing elites in Outbreak has the chance of dropping these intel pieces.
  • Artifact 1: Golova’s Aetherium Canister - A tricky item to get, players should first head to the far left of the map, then up to the center left area called Train Loading. Players can then reach this item by jumping onto the second pointed silo. From there, it will be on the pipes in front of them.
  • Artifact 2: Zombie Head - The map does not matter for this one, as it is automatically acquired when players pick up the head for Outbreak’s Defend objective.
  • Artifact 3: Ruka’s Aetherium Crystal Shard - This special crystal shard is found in the burnt down section of the map’s forest. Players will want to be to the bottom right corner of the map for this, almost diagonal from the military base. It will be behind a large set of rocks close to the phase, and players can climb on top to pick it up.
  • Artifact 4: Alpine’s Frost Blast Canister - This special Ammo Mod homage can be found at the bottom of the long lines of cable cars. Players can climb onto the platform at the end, and the canister can be seen on top.

That does it for Season 2’s Outbreak intel, though with Season 3 bringing an Outbreak Easter egg quest to complete, fans should expect even more intel to come with it.
