Every Call of Duty: Black Ops title has featured a version of the infamous Nuketown map. This morning, Activision stayed true to the tradition by adding a variation of Nuketown to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Every Nuketown that has been in a Black Ops title appears a little differently, with Nuketown '84 taking inspiration from the 80s time period the title is set in. The map is located in some sort of junkyard, and both houses featured in the look more like graffiti-covered shacks.

To celebrate the newest version of Nuketown hitting Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, players will receive double XP and double weapon XP until November 3o. Along with the double XP, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will introduce a Nuketown 24/7 playlist, likely featuring fan-favorite modes such as TDM, Kill Confirmed, and Domination all on the Nuketown 84' map.

The combination of double XP and a 24/7 Nuketown '84 playlist is sure to boost player levels quickly. Like all previous versions of Nuketown, the map in Black Ops Cold War is fast-paced with no time to stand still for long. Due to the limited spawn locations, players must be ready for action the minute they spawn, much like other infamous small maps including Rust and Shipment.

Before releasing Nuketown '84, Activision gave out a Nuketown Weapon Bundle to every player logged in between the game's release and November 20. The bundle included six weapon charms and a shotgun blueprint, which can be handy on such a small map.

Many players utilize short range weapons on Nuketown like submachine guns or shotguns, but the design of the map makes every weapon viable. Even if players missed out on the weapon bundle, they can still level up their weapons and unlock various attachments quickly by taking advantage of the double weapon XP week in some quick 24/7 Nuketown matches.

Players are getting a dose of nostalgia with the Nuketown '84 map, but they should also be ready for some brand new content soon. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is scheduled to integrate with Warzone on December 10, which will expand gameplay for owners of the newest Call of Duty title. Until then, Black Ops Cold War players can experience Nuketown '84 as much as they want, and join the debate about which Nuketown variation is the best in the franchise.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
