Just like its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is an experience that will be constantly evolving over time thanks in large part to its seasonal model. In addition to new characters joining the multiplayer roster, players will also see new content including maps and game modes. Just recently, Nuketown '84 was added to the map rotation, bringing back a classic Black Ops map with a new visual spin. According to a new leak, it appears a new and explosive game mode is also just around the corner.

This latest leak comes right from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War itself which has occasionally been displaying a message at the bottom of the screen when loading into a match. While these messages are usually tips and hints for other modes or gameplay, this message talks about a game mode called Dropkick, something that is not only not in Black Ops Cold War, but has never been featured in any past Call of Duty.

The message makes the mode sound like it is similar to one of the longstanding game modes from Call of Duty, Headquarters. While the team holds the objective, allied players won't respawn until they die. However, unlike that mode, Dropkick has a few additional tricks up its sleeve. Dropkick's objective gives the team access to launch codes for a nuke, though it sounds like the team will need to collect all of them before the opposing team can stop them. When all of the nuclear codes are obtained, victory is achieved.

At the time of writing, Treyarch has yet to comment on the accidental leak, though that could also likely be due to being on holiday break for Thanksgiving. Regardless, the hint screens are already live in the game so it likely indicates that this mode is real and being added very soon, perhaps as early as next week's update.

While new content will likely never be rejected by players, many fans are also hoping Treyarch is able to fix a number of issues that are currently plaguing the game's online experience. While still incredibly popular, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has not had a smooth launch with a host of bugs currently impacting matches such as a weird visual glitch on Nuketown '84 which adds in extreme amounts of colored pixilation. Other issues including players falling through maps, glitches that instantly kill players, performance based issues, and plenty more.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
