Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players are currently enjoying the new season 2 reloaded update, but many are having trouble with this due to a time consuming bug. Referred to by fans as the Class Reset bug, this glitch in the system is causing players' loadouts to simply disappear, forcing them to spend a ton of time setting them back up again. The issue was addressed by developers almost immediately after cases starting filing in about it, but it seems as though this may not have done the trick. Other players are still reporting issues with their classes disappearing despite the supposed fix.

Each season, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War introduces more content half way through. These updates are typically called "reloaded" updates, and they are a great way to keep a season fresh throughout its entire run time. While players usually look forward to these updates, they do often come with bugs and glitches of varying severity. This one is pretty high up there, so players are hoping it gets fixed posthaste.

One of Treyarch's developers replied to a post on the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War subreddit about the glitch, stating that Treyarch is aware of the issue. According to this developer, only players that logged into the game in the first hour after the update dropped should have had the problem. Those players would have to redo their loadouts but everyone else should be fine thanks to a quick fix that Treyarch employed.

It didn't take long for more complaints to come in and reveal that this wasn't the case however. Some players reported fixing their loadouts after this update and then having to do so again the next day. Players can have a lot of different class setups in order to tackle various situations, so having to redo them all is a huge time sink. It's unclear what exactly is the cause of this bug since players that logged in after the first hour are still experiencing it. Regardless, it seems as though it is high on the priority list for Treyarch to fix.

With any luck, this issue will be fixed soon, as many players are simply avoiding signing in at the moment so that they don't trigger this bug. That's unfortunate because those same players are also excited to try out the new content in season 2 reloaded. What's more, it means that those players that are risking it and going online are dealing with a smaller player base.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
