Advanced Warfare Zombies DLC

It's been a big week for Call of Duty fans filled with live-action trailers and new details, and that's even before the latest game, Advanced Warfare, has actually hit store shelves. The leaks have been coming in fast and furious as of late, with many of Advanced Warfare's bigger secrets having already been spoiled.

One of the more surprisingly elements that was leaked earlier this week involved the presence of zombies in the game. In fact, one gamer leaked footage from Advanced Warfare that featured a zombies tease, but few knew what the video actually meant.

Now, thanks to GameStop we know that Zombies will be a part of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's DLC Season Pass. We don't know too much about the mode in question, but GameStop has confirmed that it will release with one of the game's four DLC map packs.

While in past years Call of Duty's DLC offerings have been solely focused on new multiplayer maps, the franchise has skewed a little wider as of late. With last year's Call of Duty: Ghosts, for example, each DLC pack also included a new episode for its Extinction co-op campaign.

Whether this Zombies mode will follow a similar track, however, isn't entirely clear. It could be a one-off horde mode offering, not unlike the co-op experience in Advanced Warfare's retail package, or it could try to tell a story. All we know at this point is the mode will be included with either the Havoc, Reckoning, Supremacy, or Ascendance map packs, the first of which hits in January.

Either way, the prospect of zombies in a Call of Duty title is likely to get the fans excited. Single player and multiplayer are obviously the franchise's bread and butter, but many believe the Zombies to be the strongest component. It's for that reason that Treyarch's titles are now the most highly anticipated of the bunch.

So while we still may not know much about this Zombies mode for Advanced Warfare, we do know that it's not just a teaser for a future game. Unfortunately, in order to unlock the mode players will have to either fork over $49.99 for the Season Pass or pick up the single pack that includes the Zombies mode. We'll let you know more once Activision announces more details.

How do you feel about Advanced Warfare including its own Zombies mode? Will you pay extra for the mode?
