It's almost hard to believe that in less than a month, the PS5 will be readily available for commercialized sale. After being teased for several years, soon anyone and everyone will have a chance to purchase the PS5. Though, for a lucky few people, they will be receiving the console for free as part of a promotion with Burger King.

Burger King teased a PS5 collaboration yesterday, when the official Burger King Twitter page tweeted a brief video of the company mascot looking into a Burger King bag with glowing blue light emanating from it. The official details are supposed to be revealed on October 15th, but now it appears that those details have already been made available to the public.

According to Twitter user Wario 64, the official rules for the contest entry are rather simple: purchase any two for $5 meal at any participating Burger King between October 15th and November 22 and the recipient will be entered for a chance to win a PS5. In addition to a PS5, Burger King is also giving away PS5 video game codes and coupons to select winners.

Given how many issues there have been with regards to PS5 pre-orders, it's nice that there's another outlet that allows gaming fans the chance at getting their hands on the console. Even though the likelihood of winning the contest seems rather low, all things considered. Though, this is not the only promotion deal that Sony is currently doing to advertise the PS5.

In addition to Burger King, Sony also has an ongoing promotional deal with Doritos that gives fans a chance to win a PS5. However, that contest is a bit more complex compared to the Burger King contest, given that fans have to collect multiple symbols via Doritos chip bags. Considerably more effort compared to just buying a meal from a fast food restaurant and getting entered for a chance to win.

Having said all this, it's nice that Burger King and Sony are doing a promotion like this. The PS5 is by no means a cheap piece of hardware and costs quite a lot compared to previous console generations. Plus, the console practically requires players to own a 4K TV monitor in order for players to completely experience the depth and complexity of the PS5's hardware capabilities. Hopefully, quite a number of people win and are given the chance to experience the next-generation system for free.

The PS5 is set to launch on November 12th, 2020.
