Over the past week, Destiny 2 players have been working on powering up their Solstice of Heroes armor through various tiers. The annual event has returned, offering special glow filled armor if players can finish specific challenges which include battling inside of the European Aerial Zone once more. Unfortunately, a new bug has reared its head in the EAZ robbing players of hard earned loot.

As many Destiny 2 players know, the game resets its content each Tuesday so players can again chase weekly goals like finishing eight bounties for Shaxx, Zavala, and The Drifter. Completeing these challenges is one way players can get their hands on powerful rewards, helping to boost their light levels higher. The EAZ also has a pair of weekly challenges for opening chests and defeating bosses, while also offering players a chance at powerful rewards.

However, players who finished the challenge for this first week were surprised to find that the promised loot was not given by the game. Once finishing the challenges, players were supposed to return to Eva Levante in The Tower to receive the loot though the final part to this quest never triggers. Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be a fluke as the official Bungie Help Twitter account confirmed that a bug is preventing the powerful rewards from being given to players. The solution for now is that Bungie has ultimately disabled the weekly challenges until a proper fix can be made.

While the news may disappoint fans, especially those who are attempting to reach the 1050 soft cap, the move is ultimately to save players time. Disabling both challenges doesn't impact the Solstice of Heroes event in terms of progressing the armor and it stops players from wasting their time trying to finish off these quests and coming up empty for all that work. With so much to do in the game, players time can be focused elsewhere for now.

Thankfully, that means players can really focus on the armor challenges which can be extremely grindy and time consuming. While many of the standard challenges aren't difficult, like collecting orbs or defeating enemies with a certain kind of element, some players have found ways to farm or reduce the amount of time players need to spend progressing the armor. One player developed a way to farm kills while AFK, while another uses a glitch to quickly complete Adventures. Thankfully, Bungie also made armor progression faster, for players working on a second or third character.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
