Rockstar announced Red Dead Redemption 2 last fall, and we've heard very little about the game since then. However, there are now rumors that the studio plans to begin development on Bully 2 once the western is complete.

"Bully 2 is indeed in development and is supposed to be the next game after RDR2," wrote Yan2295 in a post on GTA Forums. The user is a respected member of the community, and has successfully managed to source accurate inside information from Rockstar in the past.

Of course, this isn't the first time that we've been given a similar story. Five years ago, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser suggested that the sequel could enter development soon after the company's current project was finished — but that game was Max Payne 3, and five full years after it was released, Bully 2 remains little more than a rumor.

The sequel to Bully has likely entered development then faltered several times over. It wouldn't be a surprise if Rockstar decided to experiment with the franchise following the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, but it remains to be seen whether the game would take precedence over a new Grand Theft Auto, which is almost certainly part of Rockstar's plans for the future.

This unsubstantiated rumor should perhaps be taken with a pinch of salt, but there's certainly reason to believe that the Bully franchise isn't dead yet.
