One of the weirdest games of 2020 was undoubtedly Bugsnax by Young Horses. For those who aren't familiar with it, Bugsnax is essentially about muppet-like creatures called Grumpuses that live on an island populated by sentient food items - the titular Bugsnax. When the Grumpuses eat a Bugsnack, their body parts transform to look like the food item that they just ate. It's a strange game, and there's a chance more people will one day get a chance to see just how bizarre it all gets.

The Bugsnax developers recently took part in a Reddit AMA where they were asked if the game will ever be ported to the Nintendo Switch. The developers replied that they are "hoping" to bring Bugsnax to more platforms, but that it hasn't been decided exactly what those platforms would be. Right now, Bugsnax is only available on PC, PS4, and PlayStation 5, so one would imagine that the other possible platforms would be Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

While Young Horses can't commit to what other platforms Bugsnax may be coming to, it has revealed some of its future plans for the game. More Bugsnax content is on the way, with the studio planning to continue the game's story in some capacity.

As for why Bugsnax isn't already available on other platforms, it's possible that Young Horses has some kind of timed-exclusivity deal with PlayStation. After all, Bugsnax was revealed alongside the PlayStation 5 itself, and it had the honor of being the first free PS Plus game for PS5. Whether or not there's a deal in place hasn't been revealed to the public, however, so fans will have to sit tight to find out when Bugsnax may be released elsewhere.

Bugsnax is out now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
