Of the many properties that fall under Bethesda's umbrella, Brink is a rather unusual title. Originally developed by Splash Damage and released in 2011, Brink was a first-person shooter that had players fighting against each other by way of opposing factions within a floating city called The Ark, which was built on top of the ruins of a flooded Earth. While Brink went unnoticed for the most part, it isn't without its fans, as evidenced by the recent actions of one gamer in particular.

In truth, there are many that consider Brink to be ahead of its time, but there were also many popular games in circulation during the period that shared the same genre and design elements, such as CounterStrike: Global Offensive and Team Fortress 2, that simply had much more eyes on them. However, there are many who want a sequel to Brink, with one specific fan making quite the public display over it.

Over on Reddit, a user aptly named Brink_2_ has, for the last several days, been posting images of an ever-growing pile of Brink copies in the hopes that Bethesda will give consideration to making a Brink sequel. The first copy was acquired nine days ago, and since then, the total number of copies has increased to ten.

So far, the user has only purchased ten copies of Brink, but if the user is consistent, this could really garner a lot of online traction. After all, there have been numerous similar campaigns done by individual users in order to call attention to certain games. For instance, one fan has been drawing the same character for over two years in response to Hollow Knight Silksong's slow development cycle.

Then again, a Brink sequel doesn't seem too far out of the realm of possibility. After all, many players weren't expecting a sequel to the original Rage, yet Bethesda ultimately released Rage 2 nearly eight years later. However, a Brink sequel likely won't happen anytime soon, given the sheer number of projects the publisher is currently working on, such as Redfall, Starfield, and The Elder Scrolls 6.

It's amazing to see how much variance Bethesda's projects have had over the years. Titles like Deathloop, Prey, and Ghostwire: Tokyo all possess certain eccentricities that aren't exactly present in previous Bethesda games. Thus, it's possible that a return to Brink could provide a unique opportunity to do something different while also re-introducing the series to a new audience.

Brink is available on PC (free-to-play), PS3, and Xbox 360.
