In last night's episode of the Animal Crossing talk show Animal Talk, movie star Brie Larson admitted that she would love to play Samus in an upcoming Metroid film.

In 2020, Brie Larson is most well-known for her role as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But Larson isn't a stranger to the gaming world, either, and not by a long shot. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has broken sales records, and Larson is one of many who fell victim to its addictive qualities during her lull of work. Aside from recently showing off an adorable new island tour to her fans and revealing which Animal Crossing villager is her favorite, she also appeared in the in-game talk show Animal Talk hosted by Gary Whitta on Twitch.

On the talk show, they broach a lot of gaming-related subjects, including bringing up Larson's Samus Halloween costume from two years ago, which had prompted fans to encourage her to be cast in the role of Samus Aran in a theoretical Metroid movie. Despite the costume only costing twenty dollars according to Larson, fans ate it up, but the Captain Marvel actress admits that she's in love with the idea as well.

"She was always my character that I played in Super Smash Bros.," Larson explains, "and I definitely [will] not put a squash to that story." And she gave a shout out to Nintendo that she's very much still interested in the idea of playing Samus Aran in an upcoming movie if the company ever made one.

Brie Larson is clearly well-versed in the realm of gaming. Not only did her mom have to force her and her siblings away from Animal Crossing when she was a kid, but Larson embarrassingly admitted on Animal Talk to her most played game on the Nintendo Switch. By setting up a Switch friendship for the talk show's livestream, Whitta was able to see that Larson has put in a whopping 150 hours into Fortnite.

From Super Mario 3D World to Breath of the Wild, Larson has racked up quite a lot of gaming experience in her free time. She's even played the wild rhythm game Beat Saber in an episode of Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show, which has been seen hosting more and more video game content with its guests.
