As far as late night talk shows go, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has consistently featured video games on the program, as host Jimmy Fallon is a big fan of the industry. Most recently, Fallon had comedian Pete Davidson on to promote Mortal Kombat 11, and he also played VR rhythm/music game Beat Saber with Avengers: Endgame star Brie Larson.

Brie Larson, who plays Captain Marvel in Avengers: Endgame, showed off her Beat Saber skills on the latest episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Both Larson and Fallon get in on the Beat Saber action, though it appears as though Larson is better at the virtual reality game than Fallon.

For the uninitiated, Beat Saber has quickly become one of the most popular virtual reality games on the market. The concept is that players slice through colored blocks with lightsabers to the rhythm of a song, with the notes flying at them in a manner not unlike Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

Beat Saber became popular after it appeared in some viral social media videos and was ported to PlayStation VR. It then won numerous awards and was even nominated for Best VR game at The Game Awards 2018, accolades that helped it pass 1 million units sold worldwide.

There's a reason we named Beat Saber one of the best VR games of 2018, and it looks like the game is just going to grow in popularity now that it's being featured on high profile programs like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Developers Beat Games have already released some DLC songs to capitalize on the game's popularity, and if even more new players continue to discover Beat Saber, it seems likely that more DLC will be in the pipeline.

Meanwhile, it seems likely that The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will continue hosting video game content. The show has hosted streamers like Ninja, shown some exclusive gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild prior to the Switch's launch, and even gave us Pierce Brosnan playing GoldenEye 007. It will be interesting to see what gaming moments The Tonight Show gives us in the future.

Beat Saber is out now for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive.
