The Walking Dead began as a comic book series, but truly became a popular culture icon when AMC aired its televised adaptation starting in 2010. Since then, a number of games based on the property have come from developers like Telltale Games, and The Walking Dead has crossed over with titles like PUBG Mobile. Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead promises to be a "challenging" puzzler take on the zombie series.

Publisher Headup debuted a live-action trailer for the crossover between the popular post-apocalyptic zombie universe and the physics-based Bridge Constructor series, recently seen in Bridge Constructor: Ultimate Edition on Switch, during Gamescom 2020's Opening Night Live. According to a press release sent out following the announcement, "It's not quite time to reveal any game footage," but it has been in development with AMC for about a year.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead will have players help a group of survivors, including some "fan-favorite characters" like Daryl, Michonne, and Eugene, by creating safe passage through the post-apocalypse and destroying walkers with movable level objects, explosives, and bait. The game can be wishlisted now on Steam, and will be available sometime in 2020.

While some may find the idea of a crossover between these two franchises odd, developer ClockStone has a history of remixing Bridge Constructor with different themes. In 2017, Bridge Constructor Portal released in collaboration with Valve, and there have also been versions of the puzzle game focused on extreme stunts and medieval construction.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead is set to release on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One in 2020. Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X versions are also in development.
