Actor Brendan Fraser continues to make his big return by now joining Martin Scorsese's highly anticipated Apple TV Plus film, Killers of the Flower Moon. He will be joining big names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and the recently Emmy-nominated Jesse Plemons.

Killers of the Flower Moon is a western crime drama based on the bestselling book of the same name by David Grann. The film takes place in 1920s Oklahoma and centers on the brutal murders that targeted the Osage Nation, who were the wealthiest people per capita due to the oil under their land. The events would become known as the Reign of Terror. Deadline reports Fraser will play lawyer WS Hamilton.

After starring in films like George of the Jungle, The Mummy, and Journey to the Center of the Earth, the actor all of sudden disappeared from the Hollywood scene. In a 2018 profile from GQ, the actor opened up about what he was going through and how that shaped his career. Fraser noted that during his absence, he changed homes and went through a divorce, all of which molded and shaped him in ways he was unprepared for until actually experiencing those events. In addition to his role in Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, Fraser has also joined the comedy titled Brothers. The film, which is currently in production, is being helmed by Palm Springs director Max Barbakow.

As of lately, though, his on-screen presence has been felt by many. In addition to appearing in the main cast of DC's Doom Patrol as Robotman, Fraser joined co-stars Don Cheadle and Benicio Del Toro in Steven Soderbergh's recent crime thriller, No Sudden Move, which premiered on HBO MAX this past June. The period crime thriller film was written by Ed Solomon and followed a group of criminals who are brought together under mysterious circumstances. When one of their jobs goes wrong, the team tries to uncover the truth behind what happened.

Fraser looks to continue his hot streak, as he's also been added to the award-winning director Darren Aronofsky's The Whale. Aronofsky is known for revamping Mickey Rourke's career in 2009's Oscar winner The Wrestler. So, perhaps working with these acclaimed filmmakers will put Fraser on the fast course back to superstardom, although long-time fans of his work would argue that the man behind George of the Jungle and Encino Man never truly left the hearts of moviegoers.

Killers of the Flower Moon is set for a 2021 release date on Apple TV Plus.
