With plenty of upcoming releases, gamers have a lot to look forward to in 2021. But until more mainstream entries like the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes come out, there are other hidden gems to discover and explore in the meantime. One of these titles is Breathedge, a sci-fi survival game recently released on Steam which is becoming very popular.

Breathedge follows a protagonist known as The Man who attempts to deliver his grandfather's ashes to a galactic funeral but winds up being entangled in a universe-ending conspiracy. To survive, players must learn to craft various items from the space wreckage surrounding them. One of these key tools is Cryptographic Debugging Station which also serves as an introductory mission to the game's crafting system.

Required Materials

First, interact with the ship processing bench to bring up a Breathedge inventory and menu. Click on equipment then tools to find the Debugging Station and note both tabs have a star symbol next to them. Mousing over the Debugging Station will give a brief description, the item's durability, and most importantly the crafting materials needed to make it: 2x Metal and Wire.

Getting Materials

Thankfully, both types of materials can be found near the ship without much difficulty. Remember to change into the spacesuit before venturing to open the hatch and going outside. While drifting through space, keep an eye out for metal, which takes the form of orange or white orbs. Float near the objects and press the left mouse button to collect them. Afterwards, players should briefly return to the ship if they are running low on air.

On the other hand, wires can also be found sticking out of the wreckage of other ships. Simply move near the exploded ends of a ruined shuttle and press the left mouse button to extract enough wire. The Youtube video by user Games Guides Channel demonstrates how quickly players can grab both materials below.

Making the Debugging Station

With both Metal and Wire secured, players must return to their ship and the processing bench. Bring up the same menu and options but the Debugging Station can be crafted this time with the gathered loot by clicking the left mouse button. Finally, players can move over to the broken receiver unit to complete the task and mission.

While many other quests involve gathering similar materials to craft items, other reagents like aluminum will require venturing farther from the ship and into more danger. In the end, however, making the Debugging Station teaches players enough about crafting and inventory management that will be used throughout the entire game.

Breathedge is available exclusively on PC.
