Though long-time Legend of Zelda fans know that the series's main protagonist and playable lead has always been Link, the titular character continues to be Princess Zelda. Without fail, her name still appears in every title in the series, even in the most recent iteration, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. With such an iconic role, it is not surprising that there are many Princess Zelda fans within the community. One such fan has recently showcased their love for the character, cosplaying a well-known outfit from the Nintendo Switch title.

Though Princess Zelda is present in every game, she has been kept apart from Link for most of them. Always as a far-off character that Link needs to rescue or catch up to, many players likely question the importance of her role and participation in the entire franchise. Nevertheless, with the recent announcement of Breath of the Wild 2 during E3 2021, fans are likely drumming up their own excitement by playing the base action-adventure game once more, or enjoying various original content created by fans such as artwork and cosplay.

To show off her admiration for Breath of the Wild's Princess Zelda, Redditor Eldavilora posted a photo of her costume on the online forum. Wearing Zelda's white dress, and adorned in her gold necklace and bangles, she poses in what seems to be a tranquil pool of water. Most BotW fans will likely recall Princess Zelda wearing this outfit from before the happenings of the game's Great Calamity. Using the front portion of her blonde hair, the Redditor was even able to create the flawless illusion that she truly had the Princess's Hyrulean pointed ears.

In the photo, Eldavilora wears a peaceful expression, offering a unique take on Princess Zelda's character. Fellow fans on the thread complimented the cosplay, saying it was beautiful, and that they thought it was an actual Breath of the Wild game render. According to the Redditor's profile, this is the second Princess Zelda costume she has worn and shared to the community. Another costume in her portfolio includes Princess Serenity from the Sailor Moon series.

With more news about the upcoming Breath of the Wild 2, Zelda fans are likely also excited for what the sequel has in store for their princess. Obviously a new game will involve new character outfits and looks, and will likely inspire more detailed costumes to be posted by cosplayers online.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
