As a very resourceful Breath of the Wild player is roaming around Hyrule Castle and comes across a Guardian Skywatcher that is about to shoot him with a laser, he quickly uses the Magnesis Rune to block the Guardian's laser and take no damage whatsoever. Hyrule Castle is one of the most dangerous places in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and is absolutely infested with deadly Guardians, so it is great that Link has many ways to defend himself as he goes forth to try and save Princess Zelda from Calamity Ganon.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has many deadly enemies, and the iconic Guardians are some of the worst. Link needs to use everything at his disposal in order to overcome them, especially early on in the game when his arsenal is sparse and he doesn't have the health or stamina to keep up quite yet.

Reddit user RoyalGuardLink posts this video of Link creating a new and improved usage for the Magnesis Rune. He uses it to lift a nearby metal chest out of a pool of water and into the path of the incoming laser from the Guardian. The metal chest takes the hit, Link is unshaken and undamaged, and the chest doesn't even have a scratch. Not only that, after the first laser is fired, the Guardian Skywatcher loses sight of Link because the chest is blocking its sight line. So, it looks around for a while, but then goes on its merry way.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an inspiration for so many games and developers, and fans get excited when a new game is compared to Breath of the Wild because it means that it will have many of the great features that Breath of the Wild does. One of these great features is the design of its enemies, especially the Guardians. They are lethal and can blow Link away, especially when an unsuspecting new player finds him or herself in the wrong place too early on in the game.

So, it is helpful for Link to have many different tools in his belt in order to take on such deadly enemies. Breath of the Wild has some great weapons and Link is able to wield them all and find multiple versions of each one all over Hyrule. Though the durability aspect of weapons is a highly contested point of discussion, there is still something to be said about the sheer variety that Link gets to wield because of it.

No game is perfect, and even Breath of the Wild has its glitches and mistakes. However, players continue to love playing the game and adventuring through Hyrule as the Princess's Chosen Hero. Soon, fans will be able to do it once again in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now on Switch and Wii U.
