Brawlhalla, the free-to-play fighting game developed by Blue Mammoth, has just added another surprise character to the roster. In continuing in the tradition of exciting crossovers, the legendary gaming icon, Lara Croft, has entered the bout in a Brawlhalla Tomb Raider crossover event.

Brawlhalla is an indie developed fighting game that plays in the style of the Super Smash Bros. series, meaning the goal of the game is to knock the opponent off of the stage. And although Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has a massive following and continues to move forward in 2020, Brawlhalla has a cult following of its own and the announcement of adding Lara Croft into the mix is certainly exciting.

Lara Croft's moveset in the Tomb Raider crossover is flashy and dynamic. She uses her patented dual pistols, her athleticism, and her newfound abilities with the bow that she mastered in the Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal games. The bundle will come with an old school Lara Croft skin, but also a survivor skin that is akin to the outfit that she dons in the aforementioned Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider games. Additionally, players will be able to duke it out in a new game mode and new free for all map called Temple Ruins that very much looks like somewhere Lara Croft would feel at home.

This Tomb Raider crossover is not the first for Brawlhalla. In August of 2019, there was a crossover event with WWE that saw The Rock, Xavier Woods, and even John Cena added to the game. The fanbase of Brawlhalla should be happy with these high profile characters being added to the game, in and outside of the world of video games. It is also evidence that Blue Mammoth may continue to toy around with exciting crossovers in the future.

Blue Mammoth has already announced that Brawlhalla will be coming to mobile, and it will support crossplay when it does. The developer isn't shying away from big aspirations including these high-level crossovers, crossplay, and putting the game on as many platforms as possible.

Brawhalla may not be on the tip of everyone's tongue as the best fighting game available, but it certainly has its following. It's also a popular Esports title where hundreds of thousands of dollars have been earned by winners at the Brawlhalla World Championships each year. And as a free-to-play brawler with crossplay functionality, the more crossover events that Blue Mammoth can put together, the more fighting fans may take notice of Brawlhalla.

Brawlhalla is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
