Many gaming companies have forgotten about old-school gameplay with the current-generation consoles. However, Bravely Default 2 has served as a reminder of what made classic JRPGS so memorable in the first place.

And just as there are many wonderful things about this genre of game, there are also many annoying mechanics in JRPGS as well. One of the many things that turn off newcomers is the constant grind for EXP that can be excruciatingly time-consuming.

In Bravely Default 2, players have to worry about the experience level of their character and their "job level" as well. Luckily, these can be easily raised simultaneously with the right tactics. So for fans looking for fans to cut corners on tedious grinding, here are some tips to leveling both up quickly.

Bravely Default 2 rare mob boss tree

A trick to gauging how powerful gamers are is how enemies interact when approached by the characters. If players are too weak, enemies will have a red aura around them, meaning stay away. If players are around the same level, enemies will chase them around. If enemies are weak, they will run away from the player. Interestingly enough, chasing after weak enemies is the best way to gain experience.

In Bravely Default 2, there is something known as "consecutive battles." This happens when two or more enemies in the game world are clustered together, and players have to fight them back to back. So by herding a group of around five to six weaker enemies into a corner, fans can gain a massive boost of experience as well as a 3x JP bonus. And with the Freelancer's job class in Bravely Default 2, skills such as JP Up can get grant gamers an additional 1.7x JP multiplier.  In the game, there are a couple of places early on that are perfect for this method.

Hydrangea Hills

Hydrangea Hills is located north of Halycyoniad. In the dungeon, there is a bridge that leads to an area with a bunch of Badbitts, Kobolds, and Lotls. Guide and many as possible to the upper right corner of the map where there is a mini beach and use huge AoE spells like Thundaga to get the job done quickly.

Savalon

Outside of Savalon is a dense population of Orc Leaders, Killer Ants, and Shieldbears. Guide them to the southern tip of the map that points out to the ocean and take them out as quickly as possible.

Treetop Tower

Finally, At the top of Treetop Tower is a square room that spawns a large group of enemies. Bring them into any corner of the room and use the Berserkers "Level slash" ability to kill them all quickly.
