The Bible is something we see almost everyday. It's in homes, churches, and even hotel rooms, but one place we've never seen the Bible before is an MMO. That's about to change, you'll finally be able to play through different chapters from the good book in the upcoming browser-based massively multiplayer online game, Bible MMO.

The new Bible MMO is being created by German developer FiAA and will throw players into the shoes of pivotal characters from the book such as Isaac and Jacob. The game let's you take control of Abraham and his descendants in the first chapter titled 'The Heroes', and your objective will be to get them all to the promised land safe and sound. There is also a 'Hero' leveling system that will transfer the levels and the skills you've earned to the other characters you take control after completing a chapter.

Putting my religious views aside, the actual story of the Bible is pretty interesting and has the potential to be an entertaining experience so long as it doesn't take itself too seriously. What I mean by that is there shouldn't be propaganda within the game (or any game for that matter), because that will take away from the actual experience.

I don't think this game will even come close to rivaling Farmville, which has become its own religion in a sense, but it does look kind of like Age of Empires which is always a plus! I'm going to have to pass on the game but I'm sure some of you will enjoy it, and if you're really in a Sunday school mood you can also check out the holy book on the Xbox 360 in the form of Bible Navigator X.

How do you guys think Bible MMO will turn out? Are you guys excited to play as Jesus?

The Bible MMO will be available on Sept. 6, but beta testing is underway right now.
