The Super Mario movie has been in the works for a while now. However, a recent Nintendo Direct delivered a bunch of new details about the project such as the release date being December 21, 2022. In addition, fans received news regarding the cast of the film. Amongst the stars appearing in the movie, it was revealed that Chris Pratt is playing Mario. Recently, the famous fan artist BossLogic decided to give fans a humorous look at what Chris Pratt would look like as the red-capped plumber.

Known for his popular fan art, BossLogic has created art based on video games, movies, and comic books. His impressive work includes art from many popular franchises such as reimagined cover art for Spider-Man: Miles Morales. He has created posters of Avengers and Pokemon as well. While some of his creations have a distinct sense of humor, this new one showing Chris Pratt as Mario takes it to the next level.

Recently, the artist decided to give his interpretation of what Chris Pratt might look like if he were to play a live-action Mario. He used a poster from the 2015 film Jurassic World of Pratt standing next to a Velociraptor as his template for reimaging the actor as the Nintendo icon. The results are quite hilarious.

For starters, BossLogic changed the famous actor’s attire to match Mario’s wardrobe. The artist superimposed blue overalls on the actor along with adding the iconic red cap and white gloves. Furthermore, extra facial hair was added to Pratt’s mustache to match the one seen on Mario. Perhaps one of the best parts of the fan art was the inclusion of the Velociraptor. BossLogic decided to transform the prehistoric dino into Yoshi, Mario’s trusty companion. He managed to pull off the look by changing the dark brownish color of the dinosaur’s hide to a bright green along with including orange scales on the back of the creature’s neck.

While some of the details surrounding the plot for the Super Mario movie remain unknown, the Nintendo Direct revealed many other actors joining Chris Pratt on the project. Some of these names include Jack Black as Bowser, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Anya Taylor as Peach. While Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario in Nintendo games, is not playing the titular plumber, he is expected to appear in several cameos.

With the release of the Super Mario movie still over a year away, there’s still much more that fans want to see regarding the film. While it’s doubtful that either Mario or Yoshi will look like BossLogic imagined them, it will be interesting to see how they appear whenever Nintendo decides to release a trailer for the movie.
