Boruto Uzumaki's progress in the Boruto series as a ninja has been nothing short of spectacular to witness. Although he started off as a brat who didn't particularly care about the way of the ninja, Boruto has matured quite a lot since then. Following his fight against Momoshiki, he received the power of the Karma which has slowly been extracted within him. With time, Boruto learned more about the power and gradually got stronger.

With Boruto Chapter 67, fans witnessed a great and sudden change in Boruto and, surprisingly, he ended up receiving a massive power-up, thanks to Momoshiki Otsutsuki once again.

Boruto's New Karma Power

Boruto having the Karma meant that he was a vessel and, eventually, Momoshiki Otsutsuki would take over his body. With the Karma's influence slowly spreading, he lost control of himself in moments, as seen when he fought Boro and later, when he stabbed Sasuke's Rinnegan. In order to prevent Momoshiki Otsutsuki from taking over and being a threat to everyone he loved cared about, Boruto came to the conclusion that his brother, Kawaki, should kill him.

During the Code arc, the two came face-to-face against each other, and, in order to save Naruto, Kawaki killed Boruto with his powers. Of course, fans already knew Boruto wouldn't die – he's the main character, after all. However, how Boruto would survive was still a mystery. In Boruto Chapter 67, it was revealed that Momoshiki Otsutsuki was key to Boruto's resuscitation but that's not all. He also received a new power-up.

By the time of Boruto's death, 82 percent of Momoshiki's data had already been extracted within him, however, due to the untimely death that he faced, Momoshiki's plan was completely ruined. Had Boruto died, Momoshiki's soul would die as well as he didn't have any other vessel. For Momoshiki, Boruto Uzumaki was important for two reasons. Boruto's body was his vessel, but at the same time, his body also allowed his soul to exist in the mortal world. Thus, losing his vessel would've meant death for Momoshiki.

To prevent that, he ended up completing the Karma extraction process by combining Boruto's own 18% percent data with his 82%. As such, the extraction of Karma has now completely succeeded. This has huge repercussions in the story for both Momoshiki Otsutsuki and Boruto Uzumaki. Since the Otsutsukification was sped up, Momoshiki can no longer resurrect himself and take over Boruto's body. As for Boruto, he is now 100% Otsutsuki and ceases to be a human, at least biologically. Consequently, his body is now fit to be fed to the Ten-Tails, meaning Code will target him sooner rather than later.

How Strong Is Boruto

Boruto Karma Stage 2

Since Momoshiki can no longer take over his body and resurrect using it, Boruto's Karma power now exists merely as a weapon, just like Kawaki's. The only big difference between the two is that Isshiki's soul doesn't exist within Kawaki while Momoshiki does still live within Boruto Uzumaki. In terms of power, Boruto Uzumaki should be incredibly powerful. Having 82% of Momoshiki Otsutsuki within him means that Boruto should now be an Otsutsuki level character himself. Code recently mentioned that having a Karma makes it possible for the user to gain years of experience from the Otsutsuki without actually having fought. For Boruto, this means that he's almost as skilled as Momoshiki Otsutsuki in combat himself, which is incredible.

Boruto can make use of every single power that Momoshiki possessed and that includes the ability to absorb chakra, flight, the Dojutsu of Byakugan, among other things. As seen from his clash against Boro and, later, Code, Boruto is extremely powerful and potentially even stronger than Naruto Uzumaki, who has lost Kurama's power now. As mentioned by Momoshiki himself, Boruto is an Otsutsuki, which means that he's far above the level of regular humans. With almost all of Momoshiki's power up his sleeve, he can easily take on the strongest of people, with Kawaki, Code, and the remaining Kara members being the only ones capable of matching him in battle.

While Boruto becoming powerful is certainly incredible for him, it also means that he's going to become a target for Code, who wants to feed him to the Ten-Tails to produce a chakra fruit of the highest degree. By doing so, Code wants to evolve himself so he could fulfill the will of the Otsutsuki. Meanwhile, Boruto's dynamic with Kawaki could end up taking a turn as well. After awakening Isshiki's Karma once again, it is unknown how Konoha would react to him and, more importantly, whether he'll get along with Boruto, who he attempted to kill. Fans already know that the two will be at odds with each other in the future of the story. For now, Boruto looks to have warded off the immediate danger, but what exactly the future holds for him isn't known yet.
