While fans have waited years for a proper Borderlands 3, Gearbox did release an interquel to help tide them over until the new game was ready. This game was none other than Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, set between the first two games in the series on Pandora's moon, and it's enjoying some new life thanks to a recent update.
A new update for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel gives the game 4K visuals. The 4K upgrade and the hype for Borderlands 3 has encouraged some fans to return to the game, with players needing shift codes to get golden keys to unlock the golden chest and collect some of the better loot.
Like other Borderlands games, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel uses shift codes to give players golden keys. These codes are often shared on social media or hidden online in other ways, and players can use them to get golden keys as well as some special cosmetics. Shift codes often expire just a couple of weeks after they've been released, but there are some that still work today, as well as new ones just recently shared by the Borderlands team.
Here are some Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel shift codes that are confirmed to work in 2019.
25 Golden Keys
20 Golden Keys
5 Golden Keys
Expiring on September 9th
3 Golden Keys
The Machine Sniper Rifle
Spring Fling Celebratory Skins
Besides the shift codes listed here, it's quite possible that the many other shift codes that have been released for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will work as well, just not for every platform. We encourage those who want to try out the other codes for themselves to visit the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Orcz page for even more shift codes.
Moving forward, it's likely that Gearbox will keep releasing shift codes for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, but new shift codes for the game may slow down once Borderlands 3 releases on September 13.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is out now for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
