Following her performances in Knives Out and the newest Halloween movie, Jamie-Lee Curtis is in talks to star in the upcoming Borderlands movie from Lionsgate. This newest reveal comes on the heels of comedic actor Kevin Hart starring in the movie as the Vault Hunter, Roland.

According to a report from Collider, Jaimie Lee Curtis has been tapped to appear in the Borderlands movie as Dr. Patricia Tannis, a non-playable character who makes an appearance in several Borderlands games, including the recently released Borderlands 3. The character of Doctor Tannis is described as an intelligent, but introverted scientist, dedicated to studying the mystery of the alien race, the Eridians. Throughout the series of games, she uses her skills to research new technologies and aid the Vault Hunters in their journey of fortune and glory. Doctor Tannis is known by players for her opinionated personality and references to other sci-fi films.

Borderlands is being directed by Eli Roth, with a script being penned by Chernobyl writer Craig Mazin. Jamie's casting marks an unexpected but interesting meeting of two legends in cinematic horror. Jamie-Lee Curtis joins the movie which co-stars Cate Blanchett as Siren and Kevin Hart as Roland. Avi Arad, Ari Arad, and Erik Feig will all serve as producers. Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Interactive, will join Strauss Zelnick of Take-Two Interactive as executive producers of Borderlands.

Jamie-Lee Curtis has made remarkable success in recent years. The established actress reprised her role in the Halloween franchise, in 2018's Halloween, a direct sequel to the 1978 original that served as Jamie-Lee's acting debut. Her starring in the role proved to be an incredible success, which complimented her role in 2019's Knives Out.

Given the introverted personality and boisterously opinionated personality of Doctor Tannis, Jamie's talents easily fit remarkably within the personality traits of Doctor Tannis, and, should the script work, please the fans that have poured so much time into the games.

The Borderlands movie is currently in pre-production with no filming or release date set.
