If, like me, you are looking for a good reason to revisit the wastelands of Pandora -  listen up, as some early details of an upcoming DLC pack for Borderlands have recently emerged.

A designer at Gearbox has confirmed on the studio's official forums that a third downloadable content pack is on the way, finally raising player level cap above level 50.

"After finalizing Zombies DLC, the team and I began reading the DLC feedback around the forums on the wants and desires. Guess what, level cap increase anyone? Got it and it's awesome. Hopefully we can get a full announcement out to you guys soon but, man is this the biggest DLC we have made. So don’t worry, we are working really hard right now on both the update (that solves a bunch of issues) and the DLC."

As a huge fan of Borderlands this is great news, an increase to the level cap is something I've been anticipating for a while now. I thought the game began to lose some of it's charm and appeal once there was a lack of character progression. I just hope the new content is more like The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned, which served up a fairly sizeable new area for us to explore - rather than the arena based Mad Moxxie's Underdome Riot which was a huge disappointment for me.

Has the level cap been hampering your enjoyment of Borderlands? What did you think of the previous content packs?
