With the Borderlands 3 release date just over four months away, new details about Gearbox Software's highly anticipated looter shooter continue to surface. Included in these details are the confirmation of several Borderlands 3 characters, along with the reveal of the BL3 voice actors that will bring them to life.

Indeed, this slow disclosure of the Borderlands 3 voice cast has been one characterized by a surprising amount of controversy and drama. That said, despite these bumps in the road, the extent of the Borderlands 3 voice actors is coming increasingly into focus, and fans are certain to find cast members to be excited about in the list provided here.

Zehra Fazal (Amara)

Borderlands 3's Amara the Siren is one of the new BL3 characters, and the voice actor behind her, Zehra Fazal, is also new to the series. While indeed players have not heard Fazal's work in a Borderlands game before, they may recognize her as Kayle from League of Legends and the AI announcer from the recent Apex Legends.

Marcus M. Mauldin (Brick)

Marcus M. Mauldin is back to reprise his role as Brick in Borderlands 3, a character he has previously voiced in Borderlands, Borderlands 2, and Tales from the Borderlands: A Telltale Games Series. Aside from his Borderlands 3 voice over, Mauldin's work can be heard in Deus Ex and Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi.

Jim Foronda (Claptrap)

Indeed, there has been some notable controversy surrounding the Borderlands 3 Claptrap voice actor, which has included name-calling and accusations of assault. Despite this ongoing drama, Jim Foronda finds himself filling the role, and he is no newcomer to the franchise, having previously voiced characters in Borderlands, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!. His work can also be heard in anime series such as My Hero Academia, Dragon Ball Super, and Attack on Titan.

Jamie Marchi (Ellie)

Ellie is back in Borderlands 3, and Jamie Marchi returns to give her a voice. Marchi is an extremely prolific actor with more than 300 credits to her name, many of which come from recurring roles on a great number of anime series. Some of these series are Strike Witches, Fairy Tail, and High School DxD.

Amber Lee Connors (Female Psycho)

Borderlands 3 is the first game in the series to feature female Psychos, and Amber Lee Connors makes her debut in the franchise by voicing them. That said, Connors is certainly not new to voice work, having more than 150 acting credits. Some of her most notable credits include her recent roles in Wargroove and My Hero Academia.

Christopher Wehkamp (Katagawa, Jr.)

Katagawa, the Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at Maliwan, is a new Borderlands 3 character, and Christopher Wehkamp is making his series debut as well. Wehkamp's previous work has been primarily focused on recurring roles in anime series, such as Attack on Titan and Fairy Tail.

Ciaran Strange (Lorelei)

Lorelei is yet another new BL3 character, and giving her a voice appears to be the first voice acting Ciaran Strange has done. Despite having a relatively fresh acting career, Strange has been featured in a few TV series, including The Switch.

Brina Palencia (Mad Moxxi)

Brina Palencia is back to lend her talents to Borderlands 3, continuing her role as Mad Moxxi from Borderlands, Borderlands 2, and Tales from the Borderlands: A Telltale Games Series. Palencia has over 250 acting credits to her name, with notable roles from this year including Captain Briggs from The Division 2 and Nyotengu from Dead or Alive 6.

Martha Harms (Maya)

Martha Harms reprises her role as Maya for Borderlands 3, a character she first voiced in Borderlands 2. Harms' work can also be heard in a number of anime series, voicing various characters in Pokemon and having an extended run on A Certain Scientific Railgun.

Jason Liebrecht (Mordecai)

Mordecai is another returning character in Borderlands 3, and Jason Liebrecht is back to lend his talents. Aside from voicing Mordecai in Borderlands 2 and Tales from the Borderlands: A Telltale Games Series, fans may know Liebrecht's voice as Dabi's from My Hero Academia and Champa's from Dragon Ball Super.

Ray Chase (Rhys)

The Borderlands 3 Rhys voice actor has also been a source of some controversy, following Troy Baker's announcement that he would not be returning to the role. While this Borderlands 3 voice over drama may have left some fans disappointed, Ray Chase is certainly no slouch, and fans may recognize his work as the voice of Genichiro Ashina in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Noctis from Final Fantasy 15.

J. Michael Tatum (Sir Hammerlock)

J. Michael Tatum continues his role as Sir Hammerlock in Borderlands 3, a character he first voiced for Borderlands 2. As with many of the others featured in the BL3 voice cast, Tatum's experience is significant, and it includes voicing Erwin Smith in Attack on Titan and Tenya Iida in My Hero Academia.

Colleen Clinkenbeard (Tannis / Lilith)

Colleen Clinkenbeard is another extremely prolific voice actor, with more than 250 credits under her belt, and she is back with Borderlands 3 voices for both Tannis and Lilith. Included in Clinkenbeard's massive resume are her recurring roles as Simone in Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On and Mai in Dragon Ball Super.

Ashly Burch (Tiny Tina)

To the certain delight of many, Ashly Burch is back as the Borderlands 3 Tiny Tina voice actor. Burch is another actor contributing BL3 voice over that has extensive experience, and fans may know her as Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn and Chloe Price from Life is Strange.

Max Mittelman (Troy Calypso)

Max Mittelman makes his Borderlands debut to lend his voice to one half of the Borderlands 3 Calypso twins, Troy Calypso. Despite being a newcomer to the franchise, Mittelman is far from inexperienced, and fans may know him as Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona 5 and Ritsu Kageyama from Mob Psycho 100.

Elisa Melendez (Tyreen Calypso)

Elisa Melendez lends her voice to the other main Borderlands 3 villain, Tyreen Calypso, and this role marks her first as an actor. While Melendez may not have previous voice acting experience, she is connected to the Borderlands series as the New Media Manager for Gearbox Publishing.

The confirmed Borderlands 3 voice actors are an interesting group, primarily comprised of talent with a great deal of experience working in anime series dubbing. That said, there are definitely some newcomers included, and there are certain to be more surprises as new Borderlands 3 classes and characters continue to be revealed.

Borderlands 3 is set to release on September 13th, 2019, for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
