With the release of the Borderlands 3 new DLC Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and HammerlockGearbox Software has also issued a significant new update for its popular looter-shooter as well. The Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Hammerlock DLC is no doubt the most important new addition to Borderlands 3 Update 1.10, but the update does a lot more than just add new story content.

Along with the new story content, the Borderlands 3 Update 1.10 also increases the max level cap. After downloading the update, Borderlands 3 players will be able to level their characters all the way to 57, which will give them more skill points to spend in the never-ending quest for power. The new update also makes it possible for Borderlands 3 players to immediately jump into the add-on content with an auto-leveled character if they don't feel like grinding everyone to the max level.

Speaking of the level cap, the new Borderlands 3 update released on March 26 makes a smart change to how loot and the level cap works. The new update makes it so loot lower than the level cap will no longer drop once players manage to hit max level. This should go a long way in ensuring that players are only ever dealing with Borderlands 3 loot that's actually worthwhile instead of having to pick up a bunch of useless guns.

The new Borderlands 3 Update 1.10 makes a number of bug fixes too, so players should have an overall smoother experience as they play through the Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Hammerlock DLC. This includes a number of issues that would cause Borderlands 3 to crash unexpectedly, so that's definitely appreciated.

As far as Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters go, the new update doesn't really make any significant changes to them. Instead of buffing or nerfing the playable characters as Gearbox has done in past Borderlands 3 updates, the new update mainly focuses on fixing bugs when it comes to them.

The full patch notes for the Borderlands 3 Update 1.10 are rather extensive, but it's nice to see Gearbox Software still working hard to address concerns while also adding new content to the game. It remains to be seen how fans will react to the Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC as a whole, but here's hoping it's just as worthwhile of an expansion as Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC.
