The mentally unstable explosives expert Tiny Tina quickly became a fan favorite in Borderlands 2, thanks to her tragic backstory, bizarre sense of humor, and brutal methods of exacting revenge on those that have wronged her. Considering Tiny Tina's popularity, it's no surprise that she's being brought back in Borderlands 3, though this time she is sporting a new look.

Fans first suspected Tiny Tina for Borderlands 3 when they spotted a character with a stuffed rabbit on their belt in the Mask of Mayhem teaser trailer. At Gearbox's PAX East 2019 panel, CEO Randy Pitchford confirmed that mysterious character was indeed an older version of Tiny Tina, and the full Borderlands 3 reveal trailer offered fans an even better look at the grown-up Tiny Tina.

Even though Tiny Tina is taller and maybe more mature, there's no indication that she's abandoned her psychotic, explosive tendencies. The character is sure to be a wildcard in Borderlands 3's story, and it will be fun for fans to see her interact with other popular characters. We know from the trailer that she will at the very least have scenes with Brick and Mordecai, but there's no reason not to assume she won't interact with many of the other returning Borderlands characters as well.

The chance to see Tiny Tina once again playing a role in the story of Borderlands 3 will be enough for some fans, but others may be anxious to see her as a playable character. Gearbox has already revealed Borderlands 3's playable characters, and Tiny Tina is not part of the lineup, but that desire to see her in a playable role actually had many speculating she would be a Vault Hunter in the new game.

borderlands 3: tiny tina's new look revealed

Prior to Borderlands 3's official reveal, many seemed to assume that the character seen in the Borderlands Unreal Engine 4 tech demo was Tiny Tina. We know now that character is actually Moze, who has the ability to summon Titanfall-like mechs.

While Tiny Tina is not a playable character in Borderlands 3, her popularity is not lost on the folks at Gearbox. After all, Gearbox has put together the Tiny Tina's Robot Tea Party game as the first official Borderlands-themed tabletop game, so it clearly has faith in the character.

Perhaps Tiny Tina will become playable as part of Borderlands 3's DLC or maybe in a future Borderlands game. For now, fans can still look forward to seeing the character featured as an NPC in Borderlands 3's story.

Borderlands 3 is in development for unspecified platforms.
