Skrakk is one of the many mini-bosses in Borderlands 3. The creature can be found in Ascension Bluff on Pandora. Players can complete a Legendary Hunt featuring the boss as well. Skrakk is a popular mini-boss to farm because he has the chance to drop the SkekSil legendary weapon. It is a powerful weapon that dishes out a lot of corrosive damage.

Comparatively, Skrakk is one of the easier mini-bosses to find and defeat in Borderlands 3. Players that use the right strategy will be able to wipe the boss off the map in an instant and claim the legendary SkekSil.

Where To Find Skrakk

Vault hunters will first want to spawn in to the Ascension Bluff fast travel point. Right at this location is the car garage, which is quite convenient. Players can jump into their vehicle and begin to drive on the road that leads to the east. Take a right just before the "Children of the Vault sign" on the right side of the road.

Just after making that right, there is a smaller path to the left. If people drive up that path, they will turn into a dead end. This is where players will need to exit the vehicle. There will be a cliff face straight ahead, and that is where Skrakk will spawn. As soon as vault hunters mantle the rocks in front of the vehicle, he will appear.

Fighting Skrakk

Once the mini-boss takes damage, it will fly down toward the player. Anyone with good gear should be able to take the boss down as long as they have sufficient ammo. Skrakk moves quickly, so it is important to maintain distance as he approaches. As long as gamers keep moving, they will be able to defeat Skrakk quite fast, as the mini-boss does not have a huge health pool.

The Fool-Proof Method

Gamers that have a vehicle kitted with weapons can employ an even easier strategy. This involves shooting Skrakk to aggro the boss and hop back into the vehicle. Skrakk does not have any ranged attacks that can damage a driver while inside of a vehicle.

Players can use whatever firepower they have to defeat the boss without a hassle. Skrakk will not be able to survive for more than a few seconds, making this strategy one of the simplest farms in the game. This process can be repeated to get the SkekSil legendary, as well as a few other powerful items.

Skrakk Loot And Drop Chance

The SkekSil and Infiltrator class mod are the most desirable Skrakk drops. Unfortunately, they are both quite rare. The SkekSil appears to have somewhere between a 2-5% chance to drop each time the mini-boss is killed. As for the Infiltrator mod, it seems to drop slightly more frequently.

The silver lining is that with the strategy above, people can get in at least 60 farms an hour. Even players with the worst luck will find one of these items in about 30 minutes. Many of the mini-bosses in Borderlands 3 aren't even guaranteed spawns, so a max farm of 30 minutes really isn't that bad.

SkekSil Stats And Traits

Players will notice a lot of similarities between the SkekSil and "the Killing Word", another overpowered legendary gun in the game. The SkekSil is a fully auto pistol that has a burst fire trait. The main selling point of the weapon is those small three round bursts of either Fire, Shock, or Corrosive damage. Each of these bursts deals a devastating amount of damage when combined with the DPS from the pistol's bullets.

In March of 2020, the developers actually increased the damage of the elemental bursts, making the weapon even more powerful. The pistol is amazing against armored enemies and has very good stats across the board. Each drop will provide four beneficial buffs to the legendary as well.

The description for the weapon is quite misleading. It states that the weapon will heat up and eventually "break". However, it does not actually break. The SkekSil has an unlimited magazine, and like many unlimited mag weapons, it can overheat. The small motor on the bottom of the gun will detach, and gamers can reload it to keep firing.

It is better to let the gun cool off than have to deal with the reload animation. Vault hunters will not have to worry about a broken gun, but they will have more success if they manage the cooldown.
