At the beginning of October, Gearbox Software announced the Borderlands Anniversary Celebration, which looks to commemorate the franchise's 10th anniversary through a series of events within Borderlands 3. This week will see the third of these events go live, and the developer recently detailed exactly what fans can expect from it. Titled "Show Me the Eridium," this temporary Borderlands 3 event is all about that precious purple ore.

The Borderlands 3 Show Me the Eridium event begins tomorrow, October 15, and it will be deployed through a small patch that is set to be available before 3pm PDT. Once a player has applied the new patch, they will find that the Show Me the Eridium event makes several changes to Borderlands 3. Specifically, the event will add Eridium drops to standard enemies, increase the droprate for Eridium in Mayhem Mode, decrease the Eridium cost associated with Moxxi's slot machines, and discount items that can be purchased with Eridium from Crazy Earl.

While there are currently a number of excellent ways to farm Eridium in Borderlands 3, players that really want to build up their stashes, or want to save on their acquisitions from Crazy Earl, will be able to do so with the Show Me the Eridium event. That said, this is only a temporary offering, and fans should make sure to get their fill before the next event, tiled "Mayhem on Twitch," begins on October 22.

Additionally, it is worth noting that the beginning of Show Me the Eridium marks the end of Rare Spawn Hunt, the second weekly event in the Borderlands Anniversary Celebration. As such, players that are still interested in farming the Rare Spawn Hunt enemies with their Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters are advised to do so promptly.

For those that are curious, this series of events will conclude with a "Spooky Surprise," which is likely to be the Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest that will bring a myriad of content to the game. This surprise is scheduled to arrive on October 29, and hopefully the likes of the Show Me the Eridium event will keep fans excited and engaged while they wait for this date to come.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
