Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford used to release new Borderlands 3 Golden Keys on a weekly basis, but now they seem to come more sparingly. Considering this, fans of the looter-shooter should be sure to take advantage of every Borderlands 3 shift code they can to collect the most Golden Keys possible. In recognition of Valentine's Day weekend and the new Broken Hearts Day event, Pitchford has released a new Borderlands 3 shift code that's good for three Golden Keys.

The new Borderlands 3 shift code is presumably live in the game until Monday, February 17. Pitchford said in his tweet that the code would expire "Friday, February 17," but the official Gearbox Software Twitter account later clarified that the code does indeed expire this coming Monday. Even so, fans will want to be sure to redeem the new Borderlands 3 shift code as soon as possible just in case.

The new Borderlands 3 shift code for Valentine's Day weekend is as follows: KJWJT-5WZSH-FB5Z5-HJ5B3-FSFT3.

For those who haven't played Borderlands 3 in awhile and are jumping back in for the Broken Hearts Day event, redeeming a shift code is still a pretty painless process. The Borderlands 3 shift code can be redeemed in-game, through the Gearbox Software website, or through the official Borderlands website. After redeeming the code, players need to visit their Borderlands 3 mailbox to find three Golden Keys waiting for them.

Golden Keys in tow, the next step is for Borderlands 3 players to use them on the chest aboard Sanctuary III for some free loot. Players will likely get better loot by actually participating in the Broken Hearts Day event itself, but at worst they can sell whatever they get in the Sanctuary III chest for some extra cash.

Looking ahead, there will likely be even more opportunities for Borderlands 3 players to get major loot in the near future. That's because Borderlands 3 DLC 2 is set to be revealed on February 27, with a release expected not long after. Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC was well-received by Borderlands 3 fans, so it will be interesting to see how Gearbox follows it up when the game's second major post-launch expansion.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
