This week is a big one for Borderlands 3 fans. Not only is the big Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC set to launch on December 19, but Gearbox Software and 2K Games are also giving away free gifts to players every day until Friday, December 20 as part of the Gifts of Mayhem event. Today's Borderlands 3 gift is a special candy cane weapon trinket that players can get in the game right now.

Borderlands 3 players who want the new candy cane weapon trinket simply need to redeem the new Borderlands 3 shift code. Borderlands 3 shift codes can be redeemed in-game, through the Gearbox website, or through the Borderlands website. Once the new Borderlands 3 shift code has been redeemed, players will receive the candy cane weapon trinket in their mailbox. They may need to reset their game to actually receive the item, though.

The new Borderlands 3 shift code for the candy cane weapon trinket is WS5J3-WTZJZ-WKRH6-RJ3TJ-JSZHC. It expires on January 10, 2020 at 11:59pm PT, so fans have a few weeks to redeem the code if they're interested.

This latest Borderlands 3 shift code joins the previous three that have already been released to fans as part of the Gifts of Mayhem event. So far, Borderlands 3 fans have been treated to two Christmas-themed ECHO skins, and a free legendary assault rifle. Today marks the first time that a weapon trinket has been released as part of the Gifts of Mayhem event, but there may be more in the coming days.

So far, it seems as though the most popular gift given away through the Gifts of Mayhem has been the free legendary assault rifle, which was released the other day. Like the candy cane weapon trinket, Borderlands 3 fans interested in getting the free legendary assault rifle have until January 10, 2020 at 11:59pm PT to redeem its shift code.

It seems the regular Borderlands 3 shift codes for free Golden Keys have been put on hold while this Gifts of Mayhem event is going on. Even so, fans may want to keep a close eye on the Twitter account of Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford just in case he releases a surprise code.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
