Today Gearbox is launching Borderlands 3's latest patch. The patch isn't available just yet, but is planned to arrive prior to 5:00 pm PT. The core content included in Borderlands 3's latest update is the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite raid, scaled specifically for a max level squad of 4 players. However, alongside the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite update, Gearbox has snuck in several other endgame balance changes. These changes have been detailed in Gearbox's newly released Borderlands 3 patch notes.

Characters with new endgame balance changes include Moze, Zane, and FL4K. As for Amara, Gearbox says that it's "currently happy with the variety of Amara's builds," though it's still listening to feedback. As for the other three, Gearbox says that it's buffing certain builds so that they'll be better prepared for Mayhem Mode. This seems fair, given that Gearbox is also launching the new Mayhem 4 level as part of the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite update.

Moze players likely already know what changes are in store for the vault hunter, given that Gearbox has previously talked about wanting to buff this build. It's Moze's Iron Bear build, which is receiving buffs to its base scaling as well as synergistic buffs via its passives and augments. Iron Bear Damage per level has been increased per level, too, and now caps out at 150% of its prior cap. As for tankiness, the Iron Bear Bubble Shield now tanks 50% of Moze's health instead of 20%.  And, just for fun, when the Iron Bear melees a barrel it launches it into the air.

Both FL4K and Zane have received meaningful buffs, too. FL4K pets received an increase to their damage, so they'll scale 1% more per level. More significant increases to damage have been added to pet-focused skills like 7% per level for Grim Harvest and 10% per level for The Fast and the Furryous. Zane received some bonuses to his Digi-Clone build. Specifically, the Donnybrook, Pocket Full of Grenades, Cool Hand, Violent Violence, and Violent Speed bonuses now stack twice.

The Borderlands 3 Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite update has a lot for players to look forward to. Between the raid itself and Mayhem 4, it's great that Gearbox was also able to get its balance changes out alongside the update. This way players will be able to experiment with their build in the new content, or for players who were already using these builds they can feel more confident going into this new challenging content.

Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
