Borderlands 3 has cemented itself as a worthy successor to the legendary Borderlands series of looter-shooters. Since looting and shooting is the name of the game, many players have found ideal spots to get Legendary Weapons, even early in Borderlands’ story. However, as players explore the game further, more and more Legendary Weapons are discovered.

Borderlands 3 has a lengthy campaign and a wealth of side content, which provides players with plenty of time to find and use a wide variety of fun weapons. Many of these Legendary Weapons are random drops from quests or enemies in the game world, but knowing the right spots to farm can help players reliably get access to the most useful weapons in the game.

Hellfire

The Hellfire SMG should be familiar to those who played Borderlands 1 and 2. It was one of the best weapons in the game then, and it remains so now. However, in this title the gun is manufactured by Dahl instead of Maliwan. This is perhaps a good thing, as many fans have found Maliwan worthy of Mockery. This weapon boosts critical hits alongside its high fire rate and accuracy. On top of this, it always has the incendiary effect and boosts elemental damage to a ridiculous degree.

This gun can be found on Eden-6 in the Voracious Canopy area. In the upper-right corner of the map there is a Hammerlock Legendary Hunt Crew Challenge quest. This quest has players kill the Jabbermogwai, a creature living in a hut under a tree which has a chance to drop the Hellfire. If the gun doesn’t drop, simply quitting to the menu and re-loading will provide another chance.

Lyuda

The Lyuda is a legendary sniper, considered perhaps the best sniper rifle in Borderlands 3. It does a huge amount of damage because its projectiles split into three bullets. Some variants even double the amount of bullets it fires, making it one of the most high-damage weapons in the game.

It is a guaranteed reward for completing all ten of Zer0’s Crew Challenge missions. While this may seem challenging, it is well worth it for a weapon of this caliber.

The Linc

The Linc is an Atlas manufactured SMG, with a grenade effect that causes bullets to hone in on the targeted enemy. It hits extremely hard and, is an all-around good choice. It is available in the Malevolent Practice side quest given by Hammerlock on Eden 6. The quest will take players to The Anvil area, where it will sometimes drop from an enemy named the “Anointed Alpha.” If it doesn’t drop, the same quit and re-load trick will work.

The Garcia

The Garcia is a Jakobs shotgun with high fire rate and large magazine capacity. It packs a serious punch and can quickly destroy anything in front of it because of the sheer volume of firepower it can put out. It drops from the Chonk Stomp, the target of another Hammerlock Legendary Hunt on Eden 6 in the Floodmoor Basin Area. Jakobs is one of the best weapons manufacturers in Borderlands 3, so it will appear often in this list.

Pestilence

Pestilence is a Children of the Vault pistol that does an incredible amount of radiation damage. Because it is a Children of the Vault weapon, it has unlimited magazine capacity as long as it does not overheat. This allows players to quickly apply lots of radiation damage to any enemy. It is also available from a Hammerlock Legendary Hunt. In the Jakobs Estate area of Eden 6, players can hunt down the Heckle, which has chance to drop this weapon.

Headsplosion

The Headsplosion is a Jakobs sniper rifle with all-around decent stats. However, its shots explode on impact, making it useful beyond pure damage. It is available in Konrads Hold on Pandora, and is dropped by the Manvark.

Nimble Jack

Nimble Jack is an extremely fun weapon to use because it provides an interesting challenge and excellent results. This gun is a Jakobs Shotgun, but the trick to using it is that it provides a huge boost to accuracy while the player is airborne. If the player constantly jumps around, the shotgun gains sniper-like accuracy and can easily blast enemies away from above. It is dropped as part of Zer0’s Target of Opportunity Crew Challenge to kill Handsome Jacky. This quest takes players to Promethea’s Skywell-27. At the very bottom of the Skywell is where Handsome Jacky dwells.

Tsunami

The Tsunami is a Maliwan SMG that was also available in previous Borderlands titles. In Borderlands 3, it will sometimes shoot shock or corrosive projectiles alongside its normal bullets. This makes it great for applying status effects and melting through shields. It can be farmed from the Katagawa Ball bossfight.

 Queen’s Call

The Queen’s call is one of the best weapons for Fl4k. It is a Jakobs pistol that releases a large quantity of elemental projectiles on every critical hit, and also returns ammunition to the magazine on critical hits.

This is ideal for a Fl4k build that focuses on critical damage, but it is only available from the final boss of the game. To farm it, players must travel to the Destroyer’s Rift on Pandora and farm the boss until it drops.

Borderlands 3 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
