The games in the Borderlands franchise have a history of delivering exceptional intros centered around standout songs from acts like Cage the Elephant, The Vines, and The Heavy. As such, some fans are certain to be excited to finally get to hear the Borderlands 3 intro song, and now they have a chance to do just that. Indeed, the Borderlands 3 intro music was premiered live at the recent BL3 Launch Party, giving fans a preview of what they will hear when the game's release date arrives.

As was the case with Borderlands 2, the Borderlands 3 intro music comes from UK-based band The Heavy, and the performance can be seen in the video below. As mentioned, the reveal of this BL3 intro song came during a Borderlands 3 Launch Party that occurred in Dallas, TX on Friday, September 6. This party was live streamed and featured Borderlands 3 gameplay, interviews with developers from Gearbox Software, and, of course, the concert from The Heavy.

With respect to the name of the Borderlands 3 intro track, it is not specifically indicated in the video included here. That said, the song's chorus suggests that it is called "I Put It On the Line," and fans of The Heavy are certain to find a lot to love in this new composition from the group. Additionally, those that saw the full live stream from the Launch Party suggest that The Heavy confirmed that this track, along with two others, will be included in a Deluxe Edition release of their new album Sons.

Furthermore, fans that watch The Heavy's performance from the Launch Party will get a look at the BL3 intro as well. Those that are familiar with the intro from the original Borderlands may get a kick out of what Gearbox has put together for Borderlands 3, as the new intro features a humorous twist on what appeared in the first game in the series.

The intro that was shown at the Launch Party also highlights the new Borderlands 3 Vault Hunters: Amara the Siren, FL4K the Beastmaster, Moze the Gunner, and Zane the Operative. With the BL3 release date less than one week away, many fans are sure to be carefully weighing the pros and cons of each these characters at this very moment, and they do not have to wait much longer to wait before experiencing them firsthand.

Borderlands 3 comes out on September 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A Google Stadia version is also in development.
