The fifth game in the series, Borderlands 3 in a series engulfed in blood, guts, the occasion cockatiel, and crude humor that many fans just can't get enough of. The third game of the main series is no different than it's predecessors with billions of guns at your disposal and YouTuber-style villains who never miss the chance to give you the business or tell you how much they just wish you would die.

Even though we all miss the great baddie (or as some believe, hero) that Handsome Jack was, the Calypso Twins take their place with upstanding comedic banter that is something to behold and makes us want to kill them all the more.

10 Become A Sellout

In a mission that resembles one from Borderlands 2, the Calypso Twins have had enough of the vault hunters taking down scores and scores of their minions. Tyreen Calypso offers you two choices, take out the hidden cameras around their newly constructed death machine or kill yourself and gain a sweet new gun.

The better of the two options is pretty obvious. After all, we all know how much guns mean to Borderlands 3 and "Real Talk. You're a gun slut. We both know it. And this gun is totally worth your self-respect."

9 Getting The Map

Picking up from where the previous DLC for Borderlands 2 left off, in Borderlands 3 you must first find the vault map. After tracking down its location, you come across the first boss battle. Upon retrieving the map, you are met with lovely Calypso Twin holograms because they can't ever miss the chance to rip on your character for doing exactly what they want you to do. Tyreen opens with the great self-centered line of "Did you come all the way here for that busted-ass map, or are you just here to see me?" Seems like all the Borderlands villains have decently sized egos.

8 Plucking The Firehawk

It's no secret by now what happened to everyone's second favorite siren, Lilith in Borderlands 3, and with villains such as Tyreen and Troy, we all got to live it over and over again through propaganda videos.

One of the great lines that come from the villains comes from Troy right after the Lilith incident. He doesn't miss the chance to poke fun at Lilith and call her the "Liarhawk" every time she's around. It may be fun for them, but it makes the rest of us want to kill them even more.

7 Don't Forget To Kill The Maliwan Guys

Some of the best banter with the villains isn't directed at the player. It actually takes place between Tyreen and one of her psycho followers when you reach the planet, Promethea. This is the planet where you first fun into the Maliwan forces and during your trip you hear Tyreen say, "One more time, and I'm gonna say it slowly: Don't kill the Maliwan guys."

One of her psychos can't help but respond with, "Kill the Maliwan guys! For you! For my Queen!" The banter continues for a few solid minutes with Tyreen giving some constructive criticism to her followers. We guess good help is hard to find when everyone is losing their minds.

6 Streaming the Opening

At the beginning of the game, everyone is blessed by the great words of Tyreen Calypso as they run towards the first boss. Staying true to the YouTuber style that she has, she gives an introduction to a live stream that can certainly rival some modern-day stars. "What up my bandit orphans? God Queen, Tyreen. Comin at you live from the HBC. We're streaming, you're screaming, and we're all preparing to get into the great vault!"

This intro definitely brings a few giggles as she mocks what YouTuber's typically do.

5 Twins Can't Get Along

Later in the game comes a disconnect between Troy and Tyreen as Troy seeks to gain more power and believes he's a god. Troy brings up his anointed followers and Tyreen wants him to just go back to being a parasite. Who could blame her? Once Troy starts showing her up, she can't help but feel like she is beneath him.

As she and Troy talk to each other and bother you with their banter she says, "Remind me why I kept you alive all these years?" Troy responds with, "Oh c'mon, don't be like that. We're havin' fun! Heh, right? And she walked away." Finally, we get a laugh at the villains while they are at odds ends with each other and it feels good.

4 Topping The Charts

While roaming about on Eden-6, the Calypso Twins have a debate over what could top their last murder vid. Troy has to think pretty heavily but his suggestions definitely draw a laugh from anyone who has a dark sense of humor.

He asks Tyreen if they should "Kill some orphans, or... Kill some puppies, or cram a bunch of puppies in an orphanage and burn it to the ground." Each suggestion gets darker and darker. Don't worry, they figure it out with a good old fashion "Murder-poll" where they ask their fans what they think should be done next.

3 Vault Monster Starvation

After defeating the vault monster on Eden-6, players are treated to a little bonus where the monster actually dies. The Calypso Twins get rather salty by this and Tyreen whines like a little girl. She complains about how she is incredibly hungry while at the same time coming up with other ways to feed her hunger.

While it isn't the most convenient method of feeding, it works for a siren with the ability to drain the energy out of other living beings. "I guess I'll... I dunno, leech a pile of tinks? They're like popcorn shrimp, but more... screamy." With love like this for her followers, you can tell why everyone wants to kill her.

2 Pre-order Bonus

Shortly after killing the vault monster on Eden-6, players are treated to another video on Sanctuary from the Calypso Twins. They appear on screen with psycho masks in a kidnapping ransom style video and tell you about their pledge drive and Carnivora. In a twist of comedic action, they actually break the fourth wall and give us a laugh in the process. "Cool masks, right? Pre-order bonus."

1 A Glorious Send-Off

Since the early days of Borderlands 3, we have been hounded by videos of the Calypso Twins and their desire to open the great vault. Each stream of theirs improved the story and helped move the plot forward bit by bit.

To stay true to their nature and YouTuber style, they leave every stream, just like their real-life counterparts. It only feels fitting to do the same in a great nod to the siren pair. "Don't forget to like, follow, and obey!"
