Over the past few weeks, Gearbox Software has put out several character trailers highlighting each of the four Vault Hunters players will get to choose from in Borderlands 3. After what feels like an incredibly long wait, players are finally getting a better look at the most mysterious new Vault Hunter, FL4K the Beastmaster. Much like the recent Amara the Siren character trailer, this video gives a good look at what FL4K is really capable of on the battlefield, as well as his unique pets that will accompany the player on their journey.

In this new Borderlands 3 trailer, FL4K and their pets are front and center, giving a good look at some of FL4K's primary action skills. FL4K can equip one of three different pets that give both passive and active buffs: a Skag, a Spiderant, or a Jabber. Much like the other Borderlands 3 characters, players will be able to mix and match skills from different skill trees to truly customize FL4K to their liking. Of the three action skills FL4K can equip, two were highlighted in the trailer. Fade Away lets FL4K disappear and run around with increased speed for a time. Rakk Attack summons Rakks to come to FL4K's aid, which will divebomb enemies. His third ability, Gamma Burst, was not shown in the trailer but it will allow FL4K to open a rift that will teleport pets and give them increased size.

This trailer is also the first time that fans have heard FL4K's popular voice actor in action, and they do not disappoint. The character trailer does a great job of giving fans an idea on what to expect when playing FL4K. Each of the three pets has a surprising amount of personality to them, perhaps in part due to FL4K's characterization of them. Hopefully there will be plenty of interactions between FL4K and their pets in the full game.

This trailer comes just days after a new controversy sprung up surrounding 2K's parent company Take-Two Interactive and popular Borderlands YouTuber SupMatto. The controversy has caused enough turmoil in the community that some fans are calling for a boycott of Borderlands 3 in defense of SupMatto. Hopefully the dispute will settle down soon so fans can get back to enjoying the hype leading up to the launch of the game next month.

Borderlands 3 launches September 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
