The day many Borderlands 3 fans have been waiting for has finally arrived as the first story based expansion downloadable content is now official. Gearbox Software revealed the debut trailer for Borderlands 3: Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, a new story that centers on a a casino heist set on Handsome Jack's cruise ship. In addition to new enemies, loot, and setting, the DLC also brings back a major character from a previous game that isn't technically named Handsome Jack.

On The Borderlands Show, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford was talking about the new Borderlands 3 content and he revealed that the character Timothy Lawrence will also be making his return to the franchise. For those who don't remember, Timothy was the real name for the Handsome Jack body double that players could select as a character class in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Pitchford stopped short from revealing more on his appearance in the DLC or whether or not Jack's voice actor, Dameon Clarke, is back to bring him to life.

Considering that the actual Handsome Jack is dead, bringing Timothy back is a nice alternative for those hoping to see the maniacal villain back in the spotlight. Known officially as the Doppelganger class, Timothy or "Jack" as he was known in the game was originally a student who was selected to receive major reconstructive surgery in order to not only become a body double for Handsome Jack, but to also sound like him as well. Players could use his action skill to summon two digi-Jack clones to fight along side him for 40 seconds.

With a little less than a month left before players can storm the Handsome Jackpot with Moxxi and her team, there's plenty of other things to finish up. The Bloody Harvest special event is active for a couple more weeks until it disappears for what many expect to be another year. For those looking for a greater challenge than fighting Captain Haunt multiple times, the Takedown at Maliwan's Blacksite will let up to four players team up to take on waves of enemies balanced for level 50 characters. It even feature's the game's first raid comparable boss character, Wotan the Invincible.

Borderlands 3 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
