Borderlands 3 is the latest entry in the Borderlands franchise, and the game really shines when it comes to epic boss fights, as it continually pits players against powerful bosses that are out for blood. However, there are times when bosses can get really tough to beat especially someone like Agonizer 9000.
The Agonizer 9000 is a giant machine piloted by two characters known as Pain and Terror. This giant death-machine is fixed right in the heart of the battle arena and wreaks havoc upon anyone and everyone who dares enter the fighting arena. As hard as it might seem, defeating Agonizer 9000 in Borderlands 3 is not that difficult as long as players understand the Agonizer 9000's attack patterns and weak spots.
Agonizer 9000's Attack Pattern
The Agonizer 9000 has several attacks, so players need to stay on their toes and keep an eye on its attacks. It will swipe a blade over the floor, and the only way to avoid getting hit is by crouching under it or jumping over it which depends on how high it sweeps the blade. It can also throw out saw blades from its chest which can be easily dodged by running sideways. Players need to constantly dodge and attack to defeat this mechanical mammoth, so it's recommended to choose the best class for single-player mode.
However, the deadliest attack is the giant spiked board which can instantly kill players with one hit, but it can be easily dodged by running sideways until the board drops. Last, but not least Agonizer 9000 can also make the floor spit out flames which can inflict some serious damage; however, prior to the flames coming out, the floor glows red and can be avoided by running towards the non-glowing part of the floor.
How to Beat Agonizer 9000 in Borderlands 3
Agonizer 9000 has several weak spots which include several red fuel tanks scattered all over its body and its glowing eyes. So players need to equip long-range weapons with higher accuracy like sniper rifles or assault rifles. Guns like the Conference Call Legendary shotgun or any other low-accuracy weapons are out of the question. It's better to use weapons that are accurate from hip-fire because the machine won't give players enough time to aim down sights while dodging deadly attacks.
The death machine has two health bars. Taking down the Agonizer's first health bar will take some time, but the second health bar can be depleted fairly quickly by attacking the purple core in its chest.
Borderlands 3 is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with a Google Stadia version also in development.
