Borderlands 2 features plenty of incredible Legendary weapons for players to make use of, and to celebrate the game’s anniversary, Gearbox is letting players have access to some of the best ones for free. With Borderlands 2 becoming 10 years old today, it is certainly a big enough occasion to warrant free loot.

Despite Borderlands 3 making several quality-of-life improvements and featuring far better gunplay than its predecessor, Borderlands 2 is seen by many as the peak of the series. Featuring a beloved antagonist in Handsome Jack, unforgettable encounters with raid bosses like Terramorphous, and fan favorite Vault Hunters like Zer0, there is plenty to love about the title. For those looking to celebrate its tenth birthday with an arsenal of powerful gear, redeeming the following Shift codes would be wise.

The main code gives players access to the laughably overpowered Unkempt Harold, and this item is aimed exclusively at Borderlands 2 players with maxed out characters. In order to use the weapon, players need to get their Vault Hunter to level 80, with OP 10 also being a requirement. While this is a high benchmark for players, the explosive pistol decimates everything it comes across, with a brief video attached to the Tweet showing the gun in action. To unlock it, players can use the Shift code 5T5JB-CXT99-3JSK6-JHK33-66FCR.

While that code was provided to celebrate the 1.5 million gamers that are still spending time with Borderlands 2, another Shift Code was released to commemorate the anniversary. While this code may not provide anything quite as broken as a maxed out Unkempt Harold, it does provide three very strong Legendary weapons. To get a free Lyudmila, Norfleet, and Infinity Pistol, gamers should input the code WTWJ3-SFJ99-TBSW6-THWJB-CHHSZ on the Shift website or within Borderlands 2 itself.

All three of these weapons are highly sought after by Borderlands 2 players, with the Norfleet being the weapon that will likely be the most attractive of the bunch. This is partially because it is the strongest of the three, but also because it takes a lot of effort to get naturally, as players need to spawn Vermivorous the Invincible or farm Hyperius the Invincible. The other two guns are nothing to scoff at either though, as the fast-firing Lyudmila works well with Zer0 and the reliable Infinity Pistol does not consume ammunition. It also fires its bullets in the pattern of an infinity symbol, which is a nice touch.

For those that are still playing Borderlands 2 instead of a newer game like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, these Shift codes are worth redeeming, as the weapons should be useful for a lot of builds. Though Gearbox could have just posted a basic social media post, these free gifts are a nice gesture.

Borderlands 2 is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
