There are many fan favorites amongst the vast lineup of Borderlands 2 guns, spanning various types, manufacturers, and rarities. As a whole though, it's the Torgues that seem to be the most popular. It makes sense, given the crazy firepower and fun, satisfying nature of these explosive beasts. They tend to fit well within the context of this chaotic, action-packed romp. After all, the game often invites close-range shootouts and takedowns of multiple foes at once — areas where Torgues do well.

They particularly excel when it comes to shotguns and machineguns, and at least a few of the best rocket launchers bear the Torgue brand. Those who favor other elements, critical hits, or fast-firing weapons may not find them too appealing, but for most, these are small prices to pay for these powerful weapons.

10 Creamer

The lovely Miss Moxxi always seems to provide great weapons. This beast by Torgue can be obtained as a mission reward for knocking out Creature Slaughter: Round 5 in the Creature Slaughter Dome DLC. It's certainly worth the hard-fought battle to win one.

While most launchers tend to pack a punch, this one has the added value of a swifter-than-normal rocket velocity, making target-hitting a bit easier. The ensuing rockets will also branch off into two after crossing a certain distance. And as a nifty little bonus, its wielders get 2% healing when dealing damage. This, plus its high damage output, makes it optimal as a go-to during Fight For Your Life.

9 Hulk

While not exactly "incredible," the Hulk shines as one of the better common weapons that can be had. The triple barrel feature and hefty magazine size enable players to pump out loads of DPS as compared to most of its ilk. It's definitely useful and resourceful to be able to blast away foes with 13 pellets at the cost of just three ammunition.

Reload time and accuracy leave something to be desired, but the fairly limited spread and fast speed of the pellets allow players to be more precise than its poor accuracy rating leads on. It can even do work at relatively long distance; a feat that most shotguns struggle with.

8 Tunguska

This often-overlooked launcher is usually found from legendary loot midgets as well as the loader bot from Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary, Uranus.

Its insane damage and blast radius usually make the slow reload time and gluttonous ammo consumption worthwhile. This is provided that players can work with its bizarre behavior and mortar-like arc and hit targets effectively. The Tunguska uses a one-two punch of initial rocket damage, followed by explosive damage after rising a few feet. It's not exactly a beginner's weapon, but those who wield it properly can wreak utter havoc on foes big and small.

7 Pocket Rocket

The explosive trademark of Torgue weapons even finds its way to pistols, as the Pocket Rocket nicely demonstrates. Yes, it's not just a name for the best hand in Poker, but also the tag for one of the best unique pistols in BL2. This gun really is like a mini-launcher in a sense, with its explosive shots inflicting tons of pain.

Aside from the rapid ammo consumption, this pistol excels almost completely across the board, with solid accuracy and speedy reload time as well as fire rate. Being able to blast multiple enemies at once with such a potent pistol is both satisfying and useful. It can also be further exploited by equipping grenade damage bonuses. The gun can only be picked up from a Torgue vending machine in Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage via Torgue Tokens.

6 Seeker

The zany fantasy-themed Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep has some memorable moments — though it also brings some awesome new weapons to the fold. One example is this juiced-up assault rifle, which is obtained by trading with the Seraph Vendor in Flamerock Refuge.

The weapon fires gyrojets that fittingly seek out targets. It's a great option for pesky enemies in cover, as the homing feature coupled with the explosions will generally leave you without any worries insofar as hitting them. Sluggish fire rate aside, it's a beast when it comes to cranking out loads of area-of-effect damage.

5 Ravager

When it comes to non-legendaries, the Ravager is perhaps one of the best shotguns in the game. It already dishes out crazy damage from the initial blasts, but it also inflicts explosive splash on top of this, giving it tons of raw power.

It's also particularly great for run-and-gun chaos compared to most shotguns, and its spread also makes it ideal for deleting larger foes. Certain classes can further take advantage of this explosive gun, too. Gaige's Close Enough can amplify the damage by way of ricocheting bullets, and Salvador's Keep Firing can negate its few weaknesses of fire rate and reload speed.

4 Swordsplosion

This Tiny Tina classic can be collected during the mission The Sword in The Stoner. The weapon isn't just strong, it's also amusingly unique with its swordlike bullets. After firing, single swords disperse into three smaller ones, which then explode on impact. One can see the Tiny Tina association, given the absurd, explosive nature of this one.

As long as players use it at close range, the Swordsplosion can be really devastating with its sharp, detonating projectiles. Targets can be ended very quickly if both parent and child swords find their mark. Maya's Phaselock certainly helps in this area, as does Zero's handy skill Velocity. Its accuracy is also pretty sharp, negating some of the sluggishness of its shots.

3 Nukem

Both an awesome weapon and a neat reference for 90s gamers, the Nukem is truly the embodiment of Torgue; taken to the nth degree with its mushroom cloud blasts. This is as much a launcher as it is a nuclear weapon, as its detonations often delete most enemies in its range with just a shot or two. This is only further amped up with grenade damage modifications.

It's most often dropped from The Black Queen inside The Dust. Though Torgue vending machines also yield the coveted launcher in Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage.

2 The Ogre

This monster lurks in Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, specifically as a rare drop from Warlord Slog in Murderlin's Temple. The fight can be tough, but the potential reward is well worth the grind.

This thing just obliterates baddies with its rapid-fire minigun that tears through all in its wake. Not only are the initial hits strong, but this versatile weapon inflicts 100% splash damage bonus and spits out two shots in rapid succession. This speed and chaos can be bumped up even further, as it sometimes grants a boost in fire rate and reload speed.

1 Unkempt Harold

Borderlands 2 Doublt Penetrating Unkempt Harold stat card

This isn't just a top-tier Torgue — it's also considered among many fans to be one of the best weapons in the game. This is particularly the case when juiced up with the "double penetrating" prefix, ramping up its damage and reload speed. Put simply, there's a reason fans were excited to see its triumphant return in Borderlands 3. It's just that iconic.

The pistol blasts three shots in a horizontal spread, which accelerate and split twice, birthing four more projectiles. Naturally, this damage can pile up to absurd levels if even most of the bullets hit their mark. Mobs can be quickly wiped away when wielding at close or medium range.
