A few months back, Universal Pictures released a trailer and launch date for Nobodya brand new action film starring Better Call Saul's Bob Odenkirk as a family man with a shady past. While release dates have been in flux for most films for some time now, Universal has actually taken the unusual step of moving the film's release date up, and Nobody will now open in early April.

Those who saw the trailer will remember that Nobody is planning to be a stylish action flick that takes quite a lot of inspiration from Keanu Reeves' John Wick. As a boring suburban nobody, Odenkirk is trying to live a peaceful domestic life, when suddenly his past catches up to him and he has to fight to save his family from dangerous mercenaries.

In the original trailer, Odenkirk's character has his house broken into, but instead of facing the robbers, he decides not to confront them, and they beat him up. This event causes his family to start pulling away from him, sparking a long-suppressed rage that starts to boil over. As he begins to lash out at the world, people start to notice his surprising skills, and he puts himself at risk.

Bob Odenkirk Nobody Universal Pictures

So far, Nobody seems as though it will be a pretty solid action flick, with some impressive stunt work and a neat twist on the John Wick formula, using a protagonist with a little more personality. The initial trailer pulled a few million views and was dropped during the Superbowl, so there's certainly some money propelling the feature.

Those who remember even further back will recall that the project was set to be released on August 14, 2020, but was one of the many films pushed back due to the pandemic. It then received a release date of February 26, 2021, and was then pushed again to a slightly earlier February. Eventually, Universal settled on releasing Nobody on Good Friday, April 2, until most recently dating the Odenkirk film on March 26.

Unless something else happens to jostle the film out of its spot once again, fans can look forward to seeing Bob Odenkirk in an action spectacle in late March of this year, which means there's not a lot of time until the film actually makes its way to theaters. Hopefully, by then, people will be able to go out and see the film in a safe environment and finally experience a film that has been struggling to get viewed for some time now.

Nobody will be in theaters starting March 26, 2021.
