M3GAN's release date was moved up, which is great news for horror fans who are intrigued by the evil dancing doll in the highly entertaining trailer. There might be a M3GAN sequel, which makes sense given the excitement surrounding this upcoming film.

M3GAN's central story is emotional, as Allison William's character Gemma is a roboticist who takes in her niece Katie (Violet McGraw) after a family tragedy. Gemma gives Katie a doll and it's easy to guess what happens next, although the trailer suggests plenty of surprises and a campy tone. It's unlikely that this movie will disappoint as it will be great to delve deeper into M3GAN and see what she can do.

Insidious: Fear The Dark (July 7 2023)

Patrick Wilson in Insidious

The popular Blumhouse Insidious franchise has four films so far and Insidious: Fear The Dark will be the fifth installment. Patrick Wilson is directing the movie and it's his first time stepping behind the camera. The movie tells a brand new story of this family who have been followed around by evil demons for years. When Dalton (Ty Simpkins), Josh Lambert's (Wilson) son goes to college and begins seeing things, which suggests that this family can't escape what has been plaguing them.

Both Insidious and The Conjuring universe have provided horror fans with countless terrifying films featuring jump scares and characters who seem to be cursed because they can't move on from the past. Insidious: Fear The Dark promises another scary and fun chapter in the beloved franchise.

The Exorcist (October 13 2023)

Linda Blair As Regan MacNeil In The Exorcist

David Gordon Green's The Exorcist stars Ellen Burstyn as Chris MacNeil, the mother of Regan, the famous child possessed by an evil demon. The Blumhouse movie has been buzzed about for a long time, as fans of the original film are curious to see what will be done next.

This is the first film in a planned trilogy and David Gordon Green spoke about The Exorcist, explaining that writing the first movie is more "researched and academic" than working on his Halloween trilogy. It seems that the new film will also feature a young girl who has been taken over by a demon. There are high expectations for this one, and since the first film is such a classic, there will definitely be a spotlight shining on this one. The movie will hopefully maintain the same sense of tension and dread as the first one.

House of Spoils (TBD)

Ariana DeBose West Side Story House of Spoils Blumhouse Amazon

Blumhouse and Amazon Prime Video have teamed up for several horror and thriller movies, and House of Spoils tells a supernatural story about a chef played by Ariana DeBose. When she begins working at a farm-to-table restaurant, she finds a ghost who doesn't want her there. Danielle Krudy and Bridget Savage Cole are the writers and directors of the film.

Blumhouse and Prime worked together on eight movies part of a series called "Welcome to the Blumhouse," which included the 2020 Sydney Sweeney thriller Nocturne. The world of food and restaurants is a great setting for a scary story, as proven by the 2022 movie The Menu, and it will be cool to see how this story twists and turns.

Totally Killer (TBD)

Kiernan Shipka as Kat in The Blackcoat's Daughter

It was too bad when The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was canceled as the Netflix series allowed Kiernan Shipka to show off her talents. Thankfully, the actor has starred in many other scary shows and movies, from The Blackcoat's Daughter to the upcoming Blumhouse horror movie Totally Killer.

A fun teen horror movie and time travel story, Jamie (Shipka) and Amelia (Kelcey Mawema) go back to 1987 to face the Sweet Sixteen Killer. The twist? Jamie is working with her mom as a teenager (Claire Holt). Julie Bowen also stars as Jamie's mom. It sounds like this will be a great modern slasher movie that has a sense of humor and the fun story will remind fans of The Final Girls, which takes a clever look at the world of '80s horror, which can be as corny and campy as it is scary.
